Solomona agent has discussion with Wigan

Post by Wigan Watcher »

Solomona agent has talk with Wigan!

Sorry he has not had talks with Wigan because that is against the rules so the following is all allegedly but not true.

Solomona’s agent of this morning has been on the phone with Wigan. I have no further news but I have been told that more news to follow today on this one. It is believed that Wigan are not interested in him now but that one is only speculation.

Now he has put in a transfer request and Wakey have said they will listen to offers, why is it against the rules?

What Bradford allegedly did earlier in the season was against the rules

Hope your speculation is right as we need to be spending the salary cap money elsewhere not on a second row forward (or another Kolpak!).

I did not know that they are willing to listen to offers now. I thought they still wanted to keep him.

I think their line now is "if we don't get what we want he isn't going anywhere".

It will be interesting to see what they do get, if the fee is disclosed. The Wakey fans want a player exchange rather than cash as they doubt the cash would be spent on a player or two to strengthen the side.

With Korkidas gone and Solomona going I can see Wakey being favourites for the drop already.

They have Danny Sculthorpe

Kear must have been in the dark or hoping he would change his mind because when they signed Scully he kept rabbiting about Solo and Scully in the team together

The Wakey fans are all chunnering about wanting players in exchange rather than cash. Some of the names they are demanding are laughable. Hape AND Burgess for example.

It doesn't seem to have crossed any of their minds that getting money for him would enable them to spend on their ground, and thus get a little bit closer to justifying their presence in Super League.

If we do sign him. Then wed have a forward that can win a game. Hes a great player going forward and deent in defence.

Looks much better for the NZ than he does for the Wildcats.

Hes an impact player if we sign him. As Hock and Fletcher are far better.

Interesting proposition...

Hape or Solomona?

Its true that Solo has very good hands and it's been said elsewhere all his positives... But if Wakefield want an exchange, who from Wigan would go to wakefield? I cant see McAvoy or Vaealiki going for a straight swap, Id rather keep those two and buy Solomona.

But i'd prefer Hape if it came to it.

I would give McAvoy and Vialeki with cherries on top for Solomona! You can't compare Solomana with someone as poor as Viileki!

True, but I'm not sure I'd trade McAvoy for him. I'm not convinced Solomona is right for Wigan, he always comes across as another "big fish in a little pond" type player, great in a team of journeymen like Wakefield but out of his depth at a team where there are a number of creative players like Wigan.
