Vaealiki - 1st team start?
anyone else reckon DV should be given his chance in the 1st team at left centre week in week out? surely we have to give him a fair crack of the wip for a constant run in the team! :doz:

The same rules should apply for any player
- Play well you keep your place
- Play badly you get dropped.
I think that DV will be given the chance to start the season at Centre and this year he know that his position is not secure with Richards, McAvoy, Bailey, Goulding and Gleeson all able to slot into centre if he plays badly.
If there is a situation were you have 2 or 3 players in the same position all playing then the decision on who should play becomes more difficult but I think Noble will pick the right players.

I think that he's had a "constant run" in the team by now.Wigan Warriors RL posted:

I was hoping we would find someone to take him off our hands in the close season.
People say that the likes of Doc Murray and Koloi were worse players, however they didn't play for us for more than a few games - how long have we been stuck with this donkey!?!?!

i think he's had his chance ,maybe he's been unlucky with injuries ,playin in a bad team ,which he has not helped , wigan would or will get rid of him , but at the momant we seem to be stuck with him so lets hope he can find form of his parra days and become the player we thought we were getting

Re: Vaealiki - 1st team st...
yes i think he had good games at the end of the year with a fantastic game at headingly. if he shows this form then i would, no question, allow him to wear the no. 4 shirt again with McAvoy or Withers at no 3
To be the best
you have to beat the best
you have to beat the best

If he plays as he can then hed be one of the best cntres in SL. Unfortunately not done it week in week out and thats the problem.

we cant afford to carry him anymore. he isnt consistant enough to merit his place week in week out.maybe this year being his last season on contract for us will give him something to play for?.

Like everyone else on here I'm more than frustrated with Vaeliki's contribution to the team in recent seasons. Could this coming season be different?the grinch posted:

I train at the Fitness First gym next to the JJB stadium, and several times over the last four or five weeks DV has been in there doing extra training on his own, (After Wigan training has finished).
MAYBE, just MAYBE things could be different this season. We'll see.
