I do, there are alot of new players and it is important that they get time playing together. There are some important new partnerships at Wigan, the half backs are an important one as are the centre with wingers and half backs.
These friendly matches could be the diffarance between a poor start and a great start to next season.
The down side is your risk injuries to the squad but injuries can happy in any match its just something the club and players have to deal with.

I know that but is that not meant to happen on th training field? What if Trent and bailey get big injuries on sunday. Noble can only blame himself, afterall there only friendlies and nothing more, no points are at stake.

Training does not provide a match situation, there is alot more pressure on players even if it just a friendly match. I think the "don't play players because they might get injured" idea is not relevent because players could get injuried in a friendly, first match of the season or any other match in the season. They could also be injured during training or just while getting on with their lifes.the RL kid posted:

Gareth Hock once missed to matches after cutting his hand with a potato pealer there is nothing the club can do about that.
There might not be any points available for the actual match but there will be in a few weeks and you want your players to be ready. If Wigan played the youngster then against Warrington we would have players playing who have never played together before.
Re: huddersfield friendly
That could also happen on the training pitch. he has to play the big guns to show that wigan mean business this season.

Yes and No
Yes: It will bring the team together and they will play as a unit in super leauge rather than one and another
No: There are risk of injuries

I think that it is a good idea as the team can now gel together and learn how each other play. The situation is different on the training paddock than it is on the pitch. The players need to gel as quick as possible, as we don't want a bad start to the season again!
Proud to be a Wiganer!!!
