Feka

Post by Wigan_forever1985 »

i said it before this lad needs to be doing longer than he is 14 mins he lasted in his first stint that is atrocious for a modern day player. He is a young bloke he should be lasting at least 20-25mins, its no use saying hes a great player, he needs to be on the bloody pitch!

I thought that he was much better in his second stint against Bradford - I think that it would be better to rotate Feka and Fielden (if Fielden is not going to play 80 minutes anymore) so that one is on the pitch throughout the game.

Feka is always going to be more effective if he is fresh and charging at a tired defence

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

is it something to do with the lack of cover at prop i wonder ? is nobby trying to protect feka and fielden ,is he trying to keep them both fit ? i suppose if one of them got injured we'd be bu..erd.

just a thought.

:conf: What strikes me is that his stints are decided for him and he is not being left on long enough by Nobby. For me the whole front row is being hampered by poor decision making.

I also said that when Forshaw arrived it would be bad for Feka. Walsh was ideal for Feka. Polynesians do not need anymore bulk they need work on endurance etc. Inga was running in quick sand when he first arrived. Stints running up and down Winter Hill transformed him. Top drawrr players need very individualised tailored training regimes.

it is indeed dissapointing especially seeing as he said he has been working at his fitness over pre seaon and revealed he would play more game time....

I agree to what everyone is saying, but when he is on the pitch he works his bo**ocks off.

On 14 minute stint he should be. Its worrying as hes been here a year and no one has either told him to trim down a stone or 2 - Or the alternative get him running 5-10 miles virtually every day to get his stamina level up.

And thats the only way of developing stamina long hard work.

As people complain about others this is one of the worst aspect of any player we have. Players get injured, lose form etc. But the inability to go longer than 15 minute is not on for a Prop and that puts pressure on other players.

Eitehr hes been protect by Nobby in terms of time on field or he has no stamina.

the guy is a big bloke and is obviousley not going to do as much as the fieldens and peacocks of this world but i think on the whole all he needs to do is get his fitness up because he runs hard and straight and thats what you want in a forward.....

I've heard that Mike Forshaw did a lot of work pre-season with Feka to try and get his fitness levels up, Feka does look better than last season because last season it was the first 10 minutes and that was it even when he came back on he looked poor but this season he has at least been able to play in periods.

Noble might be cautious about playing Feka for too long in cold and difficult conditions, many people have said that an injury to Fielden or Feka could have a big effect on the season, so perhaps Noble is just trying to keep Feka fit through the first few difficult months.

One concern about Feka I have is his defence, he is one of the worst defenders in the Wigan side players get past him to easily and when he does tackle them he tackles no where near his weight.
