I didn't think we did too bad territorially. IMO what helped Hudds greatly was the fact that they were constantly subbing players whereas we made far fewer changes than I thought we would.
Wigan played the entire second half in their own half apart from for about 5 minutes when their full back knocked on and then for about 3 seconds when Withers made the break. The forwards were poor today, Huddersfield played a very simple game down the middle then split the defence with little kick behind.

One of the only positive to come from the match is that Wigan only lost by 2 points despite playing with out the two main props for most of the match, Feka and Fielden only played in short spells, O'Carroll and Hill made little impact Prescott did ok but Wigan can not rely in those players if Fielden or Feka get injured because they are just not good enough yet.
LeuLeui was defiantly an outstanding player but could be a case of a good player playing in a bad team.
So you are basing this on one pre season match, that is ridiculous :exc:

Well what else do I have to base it on at the moment, the team played their first match for 2007 against Huddersfield and it was far from impressive and if Wigan continued that performance then they will struggle again. If Wigan go to Salford and win then my opinion will a based on a balance between the two games.

I'm not going to start guessing how people will play because that would be ridiculous instead I make my judgements on how the players performed in the match.

he didn't do too bad!

yea it was a good tackle and his defence wasn't too bad but apart from Hock in attack we were very poor!

at the end of the day we've alot of new players so its expected that we wont be hitting the ground sprinting!

games needed to gell the lads!

I agree it showed in some situations that all the players not just the new signings need time to settle in again, one example was when Ashton just missed time his run for a Hock offload in a few weeks he should be taking those clean and scoring. The weather did not suit wigan really and in dry conditions it could have been a differant story although Wigan will have to adapt to the weather because I'm guessing Wigan will have to play in the rain again this season.

Leuluai, for me was man of the match I think. Also Leuluai had a fantastic first game and it looked like he has jelled into the squad well.

agree Tommy did really well for his first game. But Man of match in my opinion had to be hock. His tackling was awsome, and he made some hard yards :)

Oops, got the name of the tune wrong. I'll just have to sing it to someone and find out what the real name is. It works, honestly!
