We shall miss him

His performances for GB show what we will be missing next year.

What a GREAT player and it always made me smile when he came up against Newlove who never got an inch against him.

Of the two I would pick Connolly every time.

Good luck to him at Orrell.

Excellent comments about Gary.
Mr consistent, apart from the flashes of sheer brilliance at times.
Deserved the Lance Todd Trophy several times.
During his short stay at Harlequins was considered by many people to be the best of the League contingent guesting at Union.
On seeing the 2003 Wigan squad I thought what a great centre pairing - AT ORRELL.

Yeah he was an absolute great, when I look at a centre i look for all the things he had, pace, strength, ball skills, vision, decication, and a great defence, he had them all in abundance. Many people forget how quick he actually used to be before he had a few bad seasons with injuries. he was lightning quick, I remember Offiah sayin Connolly was every bit as good as gene Miles was, meaning the amount of decent running chances that Gary made for him was unreal.

Good Luck gary and thanks.

I too would like to add my thanks to Gary, he has done Wigan proud. My husband saw his first game for Saints and even then he was predicted a great future in the game. Yes he had all the qualities previously mentioned and more besides. Good luck for the future Gary we will all miss you. :eusa2:
