I seem to recall it was a cracking Friday night in town afterwards, especially when you had all those (now late-lamented) Wigan RL-themed pubs up and down Wigan Lane.

Assuming it was a Friday - my memory might be playing tricks. But they were usually good Friday nights after matches in those days. In fact, you could set your watch by the time you'd hit the bars in celebratory mood.

Sure it was a Sunday, as I remember me and all my mates buzzing to get home afterwards and do our own little Offiah impersonations, we used to play 5-aside touch everynight, oh the joys of being young and healthy.

It was sunday 10th may 3 o clock kick off year 1992 lol :lol: week after tthe challenge cup final ,no hang over there :lol:

I was there Mike. The most hilarious part of the match is when Bobby Goulding and Shaun Edwards start fighting, watch Colin Morris jump all over the top of them trying to break it up.

The try that always sticks out in my mind is the one where Gene miles literally waits showing the ball for Offiah to take it.
