:conf: Surely the success / failure of the event is whether or not Welsh people attend the event. Other than saving the RFL from I cannot understand why so much advertising has been directed at existing supporters.

20-30,000 Welsh people on each day swelled by existing supporters would be a success. Anything less is not IMO. I will not be going as I disagree with the venture and have done from day 1.

A worry. Speaking to some fans. They may be attending the event BUT they are not watching 3 matches. Rather they seem to be planning to enjoy the city centre then watch one match. Accordingly, the ground could be very empty at times.

Agreed. That's one reason why I'm not going.

The extra fixture against Saints is another reason; Hull and Warrington, for example, (who are likely to be two of our nearest rivals for a playoff spot) get their extra fixtures against HKR and Salford, which hardly seems fair to me.

you are allocated one corner of the ground in reserved seating, and upper and lower tiers below if you want to congregate together. If you have tickets for the other day tickets are in the neutral zones behind the sticks or side of pitch. So All in all it looks like all matches have fans at opposite corners.

I won't being going to Cardiff this year, I was planning to go down and watch the Wigan v Saints match and then spend Sunday and Monday visiting some other places in South Wales.

I think the Millennium Magic will be a failure but no doubt the RFL will see it as a huge success. I can't see how it is benefiting anyone playing extra matches in a half empty stadium 150 miles away from anywhere that has a Super League team. It is expensive for fans especially fans of Wigan, Saints, Bradford and Leeds who might have to pay for challenge cup matches and travel.

It will be a nice weekend in Cardiff especially if the weather stays the same but people can go to Cardiff of their own accord there was no need to stick a rugby match in the middle of it.

If the RFL want to promote rugby league in other areas of the country then I would prefer the 'on the road' matches they had a few years ago. Say if Wigan play Saints 3 times next season, 1 home, 1 Away and then one match at a neutral venue, perhaps somewhere in the South of Wales again. As long as the cost for the fans are kept down I think fans from Leeds, Bradford, Wigan and Saints would not mind travelling to another area of the country to promote rugby league while the clubs with fewer fans like Catalans, Quins and Salford don't have to travel to watch rugby in an empty stadium.

To those complaining that its a hugely expensive rip off - have you considered going by coach for £25 with the club then getting your £5 concession ticket? £30 for 2 or 3 matches doesn't seem to be that much more than a regular away fixture to me?

I agree with the coach pricing and it doesnt seem too expensive... £25... more or less the same as Quins - but cheaper tickets.
