Wake up and smell the coffee Wigan aren’t the force they once was and don't have the same passion but neither do you by giving up on them, any one who gives up on their home town shows no passion for the club what so ever.

Interesting replies!!
It wasn't the semi-final that did it and, no, I don't expect Wigan to win all the time. What I expect, what I grew up with and what we saw up to recent years was a team with guts and a fanatical pride in the shirt. Anyone remember Shaun getting us a cup win at Hull when we were 21-2 (approx) down at half time. Anyone remember Platty hobbling and staggering off at Wembley after we just beat Saints?
It's not just about winning, it's about passion and determination. Where was the passion today or against KR or Wakefield - absent along with the skill.
Sorry, but I'm not a sad guy - the team I'm watching now isn't a real Wigan team.

Not a real Wigan team? elaborate a bit please. We are not the all conquering 1994 team from our glory days this is 2007 and THIS IS WIGAN NOW! accept it and stay loyal to your team... We have no god forsaken right to be at the top every season winning everything... Get over that we lost and get over that we are not a top 3 side because we're not.

This is Wigan Warriors, like it or lump it. 2007 not 1987
I can see where he's coming from, having been watching Wigan roughly the same length of time. It's not losing that hurts, it's the way we are losing.

We beat Catalans 30-0 last time, with both teams virtually the same; the difference that day was Wigan's passion. That was conspicuously missing today.

Even the year we got relegated, the lads were still trying their guts out; all the way back to the Fifties we've had players with the right attitude.

That's what's gone.

I'm not going to walk away, though!

We aren't the all conquering team from the nineties - but then we aren't the grand final winning team - or the 2002 CC final team either - we haven't beat stains in 3 years and to be honest we have never really looked like winning anything in recent memory.

Some people find it hard to keep taking the hits. The club are poor on the field (considering the last 3 years that is an understatment) and our off field management is no better. We haven't looked like winning anything since the herculean effort by Radlinski 5 years ago. We get one chance for a bit of glory - and we totally p$$$ it away.

I don't blame people for not wanting to support this team anymore. I'm staying no matter what - however that is my decision. Other people have lots of commitments with families, kids, work etc to keep giving up time and money for a performance such as a day is pretty soul destroying and if Ted Mac has hade enough then that is his decision. Unless you are the sort of person who can regularly take disappointment, Wigan are a hard team to support.

Last year the fans rallied when the club was in dire trouble. This year we have had to endure numerous complacent and inept performances, which along with the financial situation has left us in a depressingly familiar situation. Either this is sorted out or other fans like Ted Mac will drift away. Take away the history and the fans and Wigan is a club like any other.

Someone said earlier that we were in danger of becoming the new huddersfield - more like the new widnes

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

A & L you are totally misreading what he is saying. Ted is not bothered re success or lack of it. He is saying that win or lose he expects players wearing the Cherry n White to show pride. He saw some very ordiary teams in the 70's and early 80's remember.

One on team can win a competition. However, those that can say yes we gave it everything are winners too. If you look back and think we did not give it our best. You are failures.

I suppose but to say he doesnt want to support the club any more? Things will get better and things are inflated today because it's the challenge cup we're knocked out of. If the players do give so called 'passion' as quoted by only the fans, then they are individual players not the club. There will always be a Wigan RLFC and players will change every year and although some may regard 'some' players of having no passion then thats fine, but it's nothing to stop supporting a club over.

Think back. Did you mind when we had kids playing last season and got trounced. No you were anticipating it and just looking for effort. You cannot say that for a group of players that trounce Cats 30-0 then capitulate as they did today.

Ted is talking attitude. Not win / lose

I don't get it we all watch the same Wigan and we all share the same disappointment so how can I be less of a fan to some one who has stuck with them for 49 years and seen them in their full glory days and now all of a sudden we are going through a rough patch (which we all are fed up of) he fades away. But I'll keep loyal to the LAND I was born and the club I love.
