I know nothing about the specifics of this case, but people are often charged with GBH when they defend themselves in an attack.

So it could be (or it might not be - I don't know) a case of the him defending himself, and if it is AND the court agrees he used 'reasonable force', then he would be acquitted. Even though he broke the jaw of the other fella, that could be well within the relams of 'reasonable force'.

I'm sure more details will come out soon enough.
Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.

I suppose, IF everything goes wrong, on the brighter side of things, because his appearance in court is before the shirt release no one will be able to make the mistake of getting his name on their shrit!

if this is Feka's first offence and he hasn't shown any anger/bad behaviour in the past then i can't see him doing any bird, also take into account the fact he thought that Lulu or another team mate had was being assaulted (so i read anyway), he will probably come away with Probation and/or a huge wedge of communtiy service and a big fine with compo, after all he's never really shown any aggression on the pitch before (ie fightin') and if he is also a devout christian (might not be), then all of this could look good for the big fella, however if he is given bird then i reckon we should sack him and find a sh1t hot prop from somewhere else

As I recall Joe Lydon got himself in trouble and ending up missing a GB Tour. Des Drummond lost a tour place too after a fracas with a Widnes fan. We kept faith with Joe Lydon. Perhaps Joe will remember that.

Is it not premature to be hanging Feka? He has not been found guilty yet?

I thought both Lydon and Drummond missed a tour down under because the pair of them had a fight in a Wigan v Wire game at CP that spilled over into the terraces in that they both went over the barrier as they were fighting?

At the time I am pretty sure I recall thinking only GB would leave two of its best players behind for a tour. The Aussies would never do it.

I think you're right. Plus, onfield incidents are likely to be viewed very differently from incidents occurring in Wigan town centre in the early hours of the morning.

I'm pretty sure Joe missed the tour because he'd been charged with something relating to adjusting an item of girls clothing without her consent whilst in a bar in Wigan - the Turnkey I think......

Big Steve has it right about Lydon

Drummond was playing for Warrington in a blood guts match v Widnes. A tackle pushed him into the crowd and a Widnes supporter claimed assault.

Well I am convinced the Lydon/Drummond incident happened. I suppose it could have been while Lydon was still at Widnes.

I can't see a player being denied a spot on tour because he got tackled into the crowd regardless of what the fan claimed but a quick search around the net suggests after they ended up over the barrier Drummond hit a speccie.
