A big thank you to Widnes for making us feel so welcome.
Great atmosphere. This was my Nephews first match away from the JJB stadium. his first comments on arrival "we have taken over this town " lol. He felt prouder than ever to wear his Wigan shirt. a great night out. :D

Official crowd of less than 7,000 and within 50 feet, I witnessed 2 instances of young lads being removed from their seats by the stewards for no reason obvious to me or the people surrounding me. For one of them, two Police Officers were involved. How many Police Officers have you ever seen inside JJB Stadium on a match night?(football excluded!)

Anyone remember the sign in Bluto's "YOUTHFUL INDISCRETIONS ARE ALLOWED ON THESE PREMISES!"

Thankfully, both lads were allowed to return, presumably after a 'good talking to', but for me, it put a black mark on what was otherwise A BLOODY GOOD NIGHT!!!

Seriously, Widnes need to address this because they are the ones who obviously feel that a police presence is required at their ground!
Bluto's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You're showing your age now :D

The atmosphere was brilliant i was in the North stand and it was buzzing when you look at the JJB it has no soul its too big for us rattlingaround in it.The fans made plenty of noise for those who could not make or didn't want to make you missed a brilliant atmosphere which did't come through on the telly.

IL build us a stadium along the lines of Hobart Stadium [a bit bigger]it has no fancy roofs would be cheap to build [against the likes of JJB] .Seating on both sides standing behind the sticks a good atmosphere created with no empty spaces and fans packed in one side.
Totally agree, we should have a similar kind of stadium. Would probably need an increased capacity to handle derby matches, cup matches, play offs and internationals.

But really enjoyed the feeling of being so close to the pitch, the atmosphere was awesome. Wigan fans give yourselves a big pat on the back.

Finally, thank you to Widnes for allowing us to use your stadium. You should really be in Super League with a ground like that and with your history. :eusa2:

Absolutely. They should now replace Wakefield!!

And one final point that most people woouldn't have noticed; at the end of Half Time, the bar staff gave away all the pies which hadn't been sold.

Now there is a gesture you don't see very often!! :)

You obviously have not been there when they were one of the "power base" sides! Frequent stone-throwing and physical attacks on travelling fan. Probably only subsided upon the sides own slip from prominence.

Great atmosphere last night. I would like to say thanks for the use of the stadium, which is a very nice one. Think Craig would go every home match as he was treated to a sunday roast before working there, something that jjb has never done i bet.

The only thing sad that happened last night, was when we were walking back to the car, some idiots in their house threw an egg onto one of the wigan coaches, if it had hit someone then it could have turned into arguments and possible fighting.
