Who's to blame this week?
Re: Who's to blame this week?
UpandUnder remember it is a cliche that players use when they lose. "We did not play to the game plan" The player making that comment was a young player. The only player the press seemed to be able to get comments from too.
When players say we did not play to the game plan I wish the next quesion would be what was the game plan and how did you deviate from it?
I am a sad soul. I have watched the Wakefield game twice on DVD and am in the process of typing up my analysis which is set by set. Trust me Wigan did not play any different from Wakefield in terms of what they tried to do. Their execution was schoolboy and seemingly bereft of any game plan. The most basic element and a big failure is where the players are positioned around the POTB. Now Eamon is surely not meaning the players forgot to stand in the right places?
To ease the depression rather than turn to drink or drugs I usually watch a Wigan match from 85 to 95. I watched an 89/90 game v Doncaster this week and the set moves were wonderful and far beyond anything Wigan ever used in 2008 and so far in 2009.
Nobody on this forum enjoys Wigan failing. Some of the posts have been sad. I get angry when I read of fans travelling up and down the country, giving their hard earned money to the club, fans of 50 years + and children who are our future supporters being bored rigid by what is served up.

hey cpwigan ur right mate am a die hard fan who travel all around and when we lose it hit me hard.this last couple of year lol i have no dvd player so ive turn to drink and drugs.but ive been watching wigan for 30 years now and its the worse ever team ive seen.this year with all the talk i thought with the fixtures we wud be top after 3 game.but it the same old thing after the last 3 years we not lived up to big things.it gets me down mate but am a die hard no matter what people tell me.allways will be to.just players who have a good talent is aussie cum over and start off slow instead of giveing impact straight away
Re: Who's to blame this week?
What we should remember is that pre season Il and Noble made promises to all fans. They talked about how the incoming players were so much better, how the rugby on offer would be so much better. THEY promised you.
A week in to the season Noble was already backtracking and talking ludicrously about Wigan being too elaborate and needing to cut the razzle dazzle.
Is it any wonder fans are confused and/or feel let down.
Just remember every one of us gives a large % of our income to this club than IL and we do not get paid like Noble. You/we are important.

wigan best player last year.and jimmy lowes let him play most of the game played well again like he allways does.wud have got a taxi for mathers first before micky
Re: Who's to blame this week?
I think Higham liked playing here despite Noble. I think the liked being part of the club and enjoyed the support of the fans most of whom (contrary to some opinions on the forum) gave him great support during the games.cherry.pie wrote:I believe he said that for the fans. When he left he didn't have many positive things to say about Noble and claimed he didn't like playing Noble's style, so I can't see how he would have enjoyed his rugby more had he stayed.pedro wrote:Higham wanted to saty but was never even spoken to about staying...He was gutted to leave
