Good point. Lockers was captain when we rallied away from relegation worries too, and i have always thought he does as good a job as would most out there. Whether he is the right guy to do it is open for debate though.
I think he was as good if not a better captain than having barrett as captain, who seemed to perform poorer when he had this responsibility than he did in the first season. And don't see anyone out their who could shoulder the responsibility any better now of captaining that team. When you look through the names only fielden, richards and bailey could have cases made for them but are their cases any stronger than the case for o'loughlin? I'd say no.
We do really lack a genuine leader out there. when lockers first got the job radders was still knocking about the dressing room occasionally and fletcher was there and newton was there. when we lost fletcher we lost a lot. And its got to be hard when we all compare the captain to farrell, who is one of the greatest leaders of a sportsteam i've ever seen and has qualities way beyond anyone in our current squad
