but anyway
should never be ashamed to support Wigan no matter how shocking we are on the field.
Speaking as a retired supporter who is just about to flee the country to work underground for 2 months against Bruxelles in the european elections in June whilst in Arcachon in la belle France I wish to protest at this vicious New Labour attack on Harrogate (and previously the only one in Wigan) Tory pensioners.

CP you compare what is going on now with the latter days of Millward
you know as well as i do why Millward went ( the board did not back him over certain things that where and may be still are happening with certain players atbthe club)
let me tell you this
Both of my lads played rugby under Millward and he was, is and always will be light years infront of Noble as as rugby coach
As for being ashamed of them at the moment , you bet iam
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White
Wigan coach Brian Noble says his young (so how old are Fielden, Piggy, Coley, Gleeson)team must be more composed, after they surrendered a 14-4 lead to lose 40-24 at Catalans Dragons.
The defeat was the Warriors' seventh of the current Super League campaign.
Noble told BBC Radio Manchester: "We've got a talented team and I'm confident we can make an impression if we learn the element of composure. (not heard that before)
"We have to learn it quickly though because it is something you need in modern day rugby league."
He added: "We can't keep taking one step forwards and two backwards. I just hope the defeat at Catalans will prove to be a learning curve in the long run. (that's ok then, it's just a curve) It's a huge lesson for us.
"Some of those younger blokes were looking a bit fatigued, mentally not physically, so we'll need to take a look at that. (in other words time to drop ainscough and tompkins)
"We'll get them there and it's important we don't lose faith in them." (is that the royal we, or does he have a pet tapeworm)

if he does that hes gone so maybe not a bad thing????
but lets look at the facts we are no more than a average team with 2 many second rate players in partuicular the aussies ask your self how many teams would smith, phelps, bailey, and roberts get in to not many although in roberts case i will give him more time plus we have 2 many average players on large contracts namely stuart fielden get rid of him now and use his salary to fund younger players stop sending players out on loan to get us under the salay cap
i agree with a lot that as been posted, these players get a wage win lose or draw, so why put effort into it, thats there mentality, apart from a few they dont show any passion loyalty or respect, so why should we show it to them, i dont even think a drop in attendences will make a difference cause they still get paid, this season as someone as posted before is a washout, roll on 2010 i think but dont expect much next season either, and if we have to rely solely on hock as a playmaker out of the whole team then we defo got problems,i dont blame noble, i dont blame lenegan, the only ppl i blame are the players for the lack of enthusiasm passion loyalty and respect for the colours they wear, and there overinflated egos in walkabout every weekend thinkin they are someone just cause they play for wigan, u might wear the shirt lads but players u arent!!!!!! I am a student who went to france but it wasn't easy getting the time off, i am a student nurse and on placement, i have worked every hour god sends on a high dependency ward to get the 5 days off that i was in france, not all students have an easy life with good holidays you know. Five other people travelled, all of who are workers, not flexible at that, who have worked their arses off to save up for this trip. We wasn't ashamed, we were proud to be there supporting our club, yeah we were shit and we were majorly disappointed but hey supporters stick by their club. I didnt see all this negativity on thursday night when we were awesome!
well said playfuldodger and iam also ashamed and pissed off at watching this shower of crap who have, for the best part about as much passion for this club as most st helens fans have and if that makes me a bad fan tough!!.
i said 'most' that is to say nobody who has a job didnt go, of course people save up for it no matter what background they have, did you two read earlier posts? flexible working hours do help at bank holidays especially back in work for tuesday... that wasnt the problem, IMO the club shouldn't compensate fans at any cost. It's an individual decision to watch wigan wherever they go.
IMO it would show catalans a great lack of respect. the moment wigan say sorry all the time is a moment of weakness by the club, something they shouldn't do.
ive been to catalans 3 times and we conceeded more points on one occasion, i wasn't asking for any club favours
have a look at the other thread on this board regarding this matter.
