 Trouble is DaveO, Mo it seems, will leave the Warriors after this season, rumour, and some press in Australia have linked him to several clubs down under, so don't expect him to act in our interests, he will be thinking about next year now and his own future !

I think you are getting a bit sureal now. The idea that Mo would purposley harm Wigan RL because he was off somewhere else isn't something a Saints fan would accuse him of.

But getting back to the topic about Carney. If the Farrell saga has taught Mo anything it will be that while it is easy to ship quality players out, it is very hard to find quality replacements.

People were saying we could use the money to get some player or players in. The same has been said about Carney.

Which players? I am sure we can all name players we would like to come to Wigan but I doubt any of them would be realistic targets.

For this reason I reckon Mo will get Brian to see out his contract. He won't make the same mistake twice.

In the unlikely event he does let him leave he will really have lost the plot.

At the end of the day none of us know how much input the coach has to buying and selling players i would like to think that denis betts has the freedom to tell Mo who he wants and not the other way around. But the jury is out on that one.
Unless things have changed in the last couple of years, the jury isn't really out on that. A couple of recent previous coaches have written books in which they complain about the lack of control they had over such things. If Maurice didn't listen to experienced coaches like Monie and Endacott, he won't take much notice of Betts.
