I'll stick up for good old GB. To see where we do excel follow some of the recent lottery funding from SportUk.

Track cycling and rowing we really do lead the world. And the current Triathlon world champ is British and only 21. So it is possible .......
We are good at Darts, Snooker or anything that you can have a pint while doing it
We have been good at Rowing and we have had a German coach, the Aus's took this to the extreme in the 70's after either not getting or winning just one medal at the Olymp Games they basically went over to East Germany with the Swimming not the drugs but the training and set it up in Aus they did the same for other sports going to top countrys and coppying they picked a few sports and not all.
The whole sporting set up is better but we are catching up.
With RL we are miles behind we need our young coaches to get across to the US and watch how the NFL train instead of coppying the Ausies, no more average imports two steps in front instead of one behind until then forget it.

In a nutshell DaveO The Nrl is the number 1 sport in Australia like our Football over here. The NRL gets the money,Sponsership,Tv coverage = money into the club,Government backing, the crowds, the stadiums therefore they can afford the best money can buy. Hollywood actors as owners for gods sake.

SuperLeague on the other hand is a 4th class sport just like soccer is in there country our clubs cannot compete, as you say "No assistants to Foreshaw" the aussies will have about 6 assistants. Therefore it doesnt take the brain of an archbishop to predict there standard of Rugby is better than ours its bound to be, and if its not theres something seriously wrong.

Our number 1 sport Football. Liverpool vs Manchester Utd the standard of football on show will be world class from well coached, well drilled atheletes with world class diets, conditioning, coaching.

Soccer, Austrailias number 4 sport Football. Perth vs Melbourne. The standard will be a good League 2 standard (The likes of Morecambe and Port Vale)

This is the way i see it and imo a very good example of why we need more backing from various sectors for the standard to be kept up with the NRL.

We need to get behind what we have in this country instead of knocking it, because thats all this site does nowadays is knock everything. Players, coaches, chairman and now bloody SuperLeague. We have enough problems from Latics fans,DW,Union and every other tom dick and harry having a pop at our beautiful game without Wigan fans getting in on the act. We need to sort ourselves out pronto because i dont see any other clubs fans moaning about the standard of Superleague.
think your wrong god...iv just watched the afl grand final at the mcg in melbourne. over 95,000 people there watching it!

anyway, depending which state you live in here its afl thats the number one sport. even over east nsw/queensland i think the sydney swans(afl) get bigger crowds than most rugby league clubs. not sure about the brisbane lions in comparison to the brisbane bronco's but im sure you understand what im getting at.

Jurgen Grobler. He was the head coach until maybe 2 years ago but he was part of a large British multidisciplinary coaching, biomechanics and science team that worked exclusively with British athletes.

In contrast to RL, look here how other sports look to develop coaches: http://www.uksport.gov.uk/pages/elite_coach/

It's a very different mindset and approach.

I'd agree we need something different in terms of coaching approach. Not just a fresh man manager or motivator or competant rugby skills coach, but maybe more of a real seachange in adding value to what you have. Some genuine innovation in the analytical stakes.

I know Leeds at the start of this season invested in GPS / heartrate tracking gear to the derision of many in RL world to monitor player fitness and development. I'm not suggesteding that's their sole reason for dominance, but at present they do look to be vastly superior to the rst of us on a week-to-week basis. It certainly can't hurt can it.

don't want "airbrush" any one. Think cp daft to go as i'm always saying EVERYONE IS ENTITLED TO AN OPINION.
Some are more pc literate than others and can do quotes and some can spell beter than others.
Just sick of constant critising for sake of critising.
We all so called love our team and we all want use this site to express our views or have a rant when necessary.
So why don't we all act like grown ups and just get on with that.If these threads carry on their will be loads not bothering any more.

Mrs Feka is a very nice person and as a husband / wife team together they would be very worthy winners of the superfan competition.

Na  Just don't like seeing decent people maligned. I am still around answering PMs etc but I will try not to post unless it is absolutely necessary.

You should all post and remember that whether you agree / disagree with what a poster says, that is their right. Just respect that right and read something else/another thread/post if you do not agree.

Mind you I will give you a little titbit just to give the pro Noble camp something to think about. Twice THIS SEASON Mr Noble rang Paul Sculthorpe and asked him to come out of retirement and play for Wigan. Scully told him there was no was he would be playing again and if he ever did it would have been with Saints. From my best source of info that.

P.S If anybody sends you a PM saying I am a horrible person and I send nasty PMs. Just lol I have never sent anybody a nasty PM here or anywhere. I only said goodbye adios for a day and that happened. Class
