On a more serious note, whilst I can understand the need to lock threads where the content tends towards the scandalous or libellous, I feel it is wrong to exrecise this option just because someone has become bored with it.

As we all know, a thread will eventually run out of steam and disappear off the main pages. The fact that a thread remains prominent, with people continuing to post on it, suggests that it has far from 'run its course'

If someone is bored by a particular thread, they can simply ignore it. To lock it upon nothing more than the whim of a small minority is a gross abuse of power!!

I'd agree we need something different in terms of coaching approach. Not just a fresh man manager or motivator or competant rugby skills coach, but maybe more of a real seachange in adding value to what you have. Some genuine innovation in the analytical stakes.

I know Leeds at the start of this season invested in GPS / heartrate tracking gear to the derision of many in RL world to monitor player fitness and development. I'm not suggesteding that's their sole reason for dominance, but at present they do look to be vastly superior to the rst of us on a week-to-week basis. It certainly can't hurt can it.

We used to do this sort of thing (not GPS, it wasn't invented!) in the 80's and 90's. We employed specialist sprint coaches and looked to be as professional in approach off the field as we were on it.

I have felt for some time now before IL arrived that this was no longer the case and Leeds doing that sort of thing is exactly how you make the salary cap go further - by getting more out of your players.

It is still early days yet but I get the impression because IL wants to run the club as a going concern this is another area he won't invest up-front his own cash to get us going in the right direction.

I have the feeling we will have to get the success and income before we get the specialist training to match Leeds approach to the game. It's the wrong way around if I am correct.

Mind you I will give you a little titbit just to give the pro Noble camp something to think about. Twice THIS SEASON Mr Noble rang Paul Sculthorpe and asked him to come out of retirement and play for Wigan. Scully told him there was no was he would be playing again and if he ever did it would have been with Saints. From my best source of info that.

Noble wants him just as he wanted Long. Noble always wants tried and tested players. Always have. Always will.

Although Long is telling porkies re Wigan. We did bid but we were way down on the list and the key factor was money. He was also not keen to go to Wigan from Saints.
