The business of whether or not the ball is on / touching the line is really nonsense.
If we are taking the rules to this degree of accuracy then we must ensure that every blade of grass is the same length and that they are all leaning the same way, that the grounds-man uses a theodoilite and laser line marker to ensure the pitch is the same length at all points, that the whitewash is not applied when its raining as the diluted whitewash will spread wider at certain points and just a point didn’t I see a tippex marker in Sean Longs hanky pocket just to broaden the line a bit. I feel that the ball should be substantively on or over the line for a try to be awarded.
Benefit of the doubt? Why should this law be applied only to the attacking team. There have been many valiant, brilliant defensive efforts from defender this season which have been to no avail due to BOD.

“Flopping” the only thing which in my opinion is a flop is the rule. Its badly administered with little or no consistency. As I have said before, flopping is imo when a player deliberately or maliciously dives with weight, onto another player who has clearly been tackled in order to cause harm or injury.
Play the ball, I have only once this season seen a penalty given to the defending side after the tackled player has pushed the tackler, both the tackled and the tackler are equally culpable.
The rules. When will we see one unified set of rules which will be administered equally against St.Helens not just the rest.
Stevo’s quote of the season, “Ganson is having trouble with his equipment, its hanging out of his shorts” Lucky Ganson.

I have to say what such incidents prove is that the video referee is not a panacea for decision making. I have lost count of the number of incidents where I simply could not say one way or another what the decision should be.

BTW, am I the only one who thought the ball touched Pat when George scored?

Wouldn't be a touch of Cherry n White bias there Botica

Not you but I do smile at fans who complain bitterly at any criticism of Wigan players but scream like banshees abusing match officials week in week out.

I thought Pat's jump was very well executed. Quite clear its a move practiced on the training ground - the 'leap towards the ball, making sure not to make contact with it, just to distract the defence for long enough to enable your team mate to nip in for a try'?

I epxect to see it from more clubs next season!!

Why not use the "REFS CALL" force the ref to make the decision?

he has stopped more trys than has conceded because of his defending this year. give him a break, he defended pretty well after his first 2-3 games. totally agree with your further point though.

long got it down on first impact then was bounced short / held up. the full speed reply looked like a try at the game and still looked ok when i watched back.

no point moaning about or discussing decisoins given or not given in the game, we'd have won it regardless had we been able to convert our chances and got the ball out wide to george & pat more often and quicker in that second half. our poor attacking play was why we did not win. not the rules, not the ref, not the video ref.
in the world of mules, there are no rules

The try...
For a time he was on the line but was also short both at the start and end of the picture Sky showed. His arm moved up hintin that it was double movement...so penalty to wigan? coz there were so many bodies in the tackle however i think that his momentum was changed by one of our lads. i mean if feka his your arm...its gonna move! so my vote...TRY

The Joel incident...
He had completed the tackle and then tried to put his foot in touch. this isn't just a penalty...its a professional foul!!
Professional foul means AT LEAST a yellow card!
We had the momentum at that point. Saints down to 12...i think we'd have scored...tied score...conversion to win it!
To the Tune of "if your happy and you know it"...
