I think Mr Ganson is showing his true colours and will get worse as we get better.
I sometimes think we're our own worst enemy with Ganson. He loves to prove his point and makes a real effort to show players that he's the boss (rightly or wrongly). Fielden was being idiotic thinking he could talk Ganson round. He really should have shut up. What he was protesting about was that the ball was ripped out, which it was but Gansen loves a challenge and he ain't afraid of making decisions when it comes to players' discipline. If we shut up and get on with it I honestly believe he'll give us more of a free rein.

Having said all that.... It is Ganson and I might be miles off!!
Actually, I think Ganson got better after Fielden's comments, we did get a couple of 50-50 decisions our way after that, for the first time in the game. Maybe Stuart's words did have some effect?

Haven't seen the TV coverage yet, but it seemed to me that every time the ball came loose in the tackle it was either a Leeds scrum or Leeds penalty.

Wigan Super League's best.......???
.......not on tonight's showing against a Leeds Rhinos team ravaged by injuries.

For 60 minutes they were 2nd best and could only show borderline wrestling tactics in the tackle & little invention in attack.

They were very fortunate to be in front at half time , only courtesy of a poor video ref decision ( at worst a benefit of the doubt award ) and had Sinfield been playing, Leeds would have opened up the Wigan defence on at least a couple of occasions.

True, Wigan got on top in the last 20 minutes and deserved the win, but on this showing they shouldn't get too carried away - we will see how they are shaping up in September .

The bit I've bolded is probably the key point.

Some blatant misses by Ganson tonight. Sam T being tackled in mid air whilst catching a kick was really obvious.

Sour grapes from our Leeds friend.

To Leeds credit they were well in the game in the first half and with the unforced errors and penalties we leaked we were lucky not to have to chase the game.

The difference in tha game came from fitness and the bench. Leeds first 13 were decent enough, their bench was just raw. After a lot of graft out superior fitness came too and at the 60 minutes mark they started leaking.

Will be interesting to see what the disciplinary do about Diskin and Bailey's chicken wing tackles - both were intentional and should see them both suspended.

As for Joel T's supposed knee to the back of the calf of Buderus - it looked like something of nothing to me. However I am sure that the RFL will try and ban him!

I thought that all of the team played their part - as we really started to run out of bodies towards the end. Had our attack been a bit more fluid; then we would have probably run up another 20 or so points.

Eddie showed his anti-Wigan colours for most of the match; praising everything Leeds did and looking for a way back for them.
"And Martin Offiah, trying to make some space, now then..." - Ray French, Wembley 1994

Interviewer: So that obviously means that you're not going to St Helens and you're not going to Leeds?

Frano: I don't know why I would ever want to go to St Helens or Leeds

I thought defensively it was an excellent performance from the lads tonight, Leeds are injury hit, but the interchange for us tonight was a right mess and i think it evened up the match. The fitness levels of the players showed towards the end and won us the game.

I don't know the fans opinions on Stuart Fielden due to living in the north east of england, but i personally don't rate him, after wacthing him over the last few seasons he gives away too many needless penalties and is error prone. However he is excellent in the tackle.
