Lockers,Joel and Lee Mossop were outstanding last night. Some very good displays all round. Fielden back to normal after a few decent displays. For my money Mossop should be a starting prop,i really think he will make the England squad this season.

Could it be a case that Stuart was over-hyped up for last night?

When his form wasn't so good, you could guarantee that he'd lift his game against Leeds. Now that he's now playing well under Madge's coaching, could it be that he was a bit too over eager to the opposition?

I was at the game last night and I thought we lived upto our name the Warriors. Lee Mossop was outstanding tonight, I especially liked the bit where he introduced his fellow Whitehaven man Kyle Amor to Super League with a monster hit, I think they went to School together up here too. Joel Tomkins was fantastic and lockers was at the heart of everything as always but i have to mention Piggy, his tackling tonight was immense, he was carrying injuries but always went on to do a job when asked. If Macca hadn't have got injured I think he would've tore Leeds up down the middle in the second half as they tired.

I came home and have just watched the game again, Eddie and Steve do my f***in nut it. They did their best to make our victory to be down to Leeds' injuries not because we were the best team, both of them are tossers and I will be writing to Boots n All again to tell them exactly that.

As for this Leeds fan talking about our wrestling etc. We are doing nothing wrong. A player comes into contact and what we do very well is stop the momentum but not put them to ground straight away, we hold them up for a couple of seconds to allow our line to reset then we put them to ground, 9 times out of 10 the tackle won't be given as complete until the player has gone to ground so basically, all this whinging is bullsh*t, it's just clever play by us and smart from MM. one thing that needs to stop though is the bitching about it between Eddie and Stevo on Boots n All, because they are fetching attention to it, the referees are listening and it's putting them under pressure to blow the whistle when there is no need.

Ganson to me falls somewhere inbetween a dead rat and a p*ss stained mattress, he is a dik head.

Whast really irked re Ganson was there were numerous tackles were we clearly dominated and yet he never applied dominance once. Instead he was shouting at players to get off.

I don't know the fans opinions on Stuart Fielden due to living in the north east of england, but i personally don't rate him, after wacthing him over the last few seasons he gives away too many needless penalties and is error prone. However he is excellent in the tackle.
I just wonder if MM's policy of dropping players who are not performing 'on the field' but doing it in training, will apply in this instance. I think Fielden was atrocious last night he made several handling errors & gave away stupid penalties.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

To be fair to Stuart, I think Ganson was picking on him a lot, even before the dissent penalty. A number of his "errors" should have gone the other way - Amor not clearing the ruck being the clearest, and twice with Leeds hands in at the ruck (for which Gleeson got penalised earlier, but it's OK when Leeds do it) - and the holding down penalties against him were no worse than we were seeing from other players (of both sides).

Makes a change, I guess - in the past it's always been Lockers that Ganson picked on.

TWO EYED WARRIOR wrote:SAMs injury looked to be affecting the team last night, when he went off and lockers to 6 we looked a much more together team. Just wonder if he was worth the risk at all last night

Hope Sam is ready for stains and is fit ! As I'm looking forward to him and Eastwood clashing
I dont think his performance was anything to do with being injured, he was just playing poorly. He only went off due to a head injury, nothing to do with his leg. I agree that we looked a much more balanced team when Tomkins went off and Leuluai began to organise and run the show. I still dont think that they have really gelled together this season as they are just too similar and neither is a great organiser.

Sam is still young and learning the game but he is still making the same mistakes that I have seen him make for years, namely far too greedy at times and poor options on the 4th and 5th tackles. I have lost count of the amount of times that he has blown overlaps by going himself. Funnily enough when he first came into the first team he wasnt doing this as much, probably because he was a little overawed and lacked the confidence to do so, and he was a better all round player as a result. However as his confidence has grown I see these faults again coming to the fore more and more. He is such a talent though and will only get better with experience and the coaching of Maguire.

The team is far better with 3 creative players and interestingly the try we conceded was when Sam went off injured.

First chance I have had to post as I have been at work this morning.Firstly can I just say that I was most impressed with our defence last night. It takes me back a few years.Mossop what an awesome bloke you are.A real diamond in the making.JT, his usual hard hitting barn storming self, why he's not a first choice England player is beyond all comprehension.Ocarroll never stopped running all night.I am not usually impressed with Riddell. But I found him more impressive as the game wore on.And what can I say about Tommy other than bloody magnifico.Lets hope we take this mentality to the stains game. And all credit to the Rhino's.A never say die attitude throughout. I canbnot put my thoughts about Ganson into print or I shall receive my first red card. :D

To be fair I wouldnt have selected him last season either because I dont think that up to that point he was good enough (or as good as the people selected). This season though he has stepped up a level or two and is a much better player and should definately be selected for England.
