Forgetting the injuries do you think differently now we've seen a bit of their new signings etc? I still think Leeds have the best squad but we are very much improved this year tactically and through fitness.cpwigan wrote:We have the best squad in SL. In fact whilst teams can put as good a 17 out we signicantly trounce most if not all teams in terms of squad strength.
Regarding Fielden he is a good player and was unlucky on friday. He has the passion which is good, the way he has started this season he could get back into the England squad (for what it's worth) along with Joel tomkins who hasn't done much wrong tbh.

I am going to quote a post I read about this on rlfans about what went on here by a poster by the name of Cronus:Kiwiseddon wrote:I sometimes think we're our own worst enemy with Ganson. He loves to prove his point and makes a real effort to show players that he's the boss (rightly or wrongly). Fielden was being idiotic thinking he could talk Ganson round. He really should have shut up. What he was protesting about was that the ball was ripped out, which it was but Gansen loves a challenge and he ain't afraid of making decisions when it comes to players' discipline. If we shut up and get on with it I honestly believe he'll give us more of a free rein.cpwigan wrote:The tackle by Lockers I think on Burrow was magnificent.
I think Mr Ganson is showing his true colours and will get worse as we get better.
Having said all that.... It is Ganson and I might be miles off!!
I agree with that poster and the reason I do is the bit in bold. Ganson should have just told him to shut up not engage in a debate! So Fielden threw him a dirty look.
SG: "Hey, don't look at me, you don't try and get off your mark it's not my problem"
SF: "I didn't say anything!...I can look at you."
SG: "You don't look at me, it's not my issue."
SF: "I can look where I f*cking want"
*penalty*
Then he explained why he gave the penalty: "Your issue is...you're playing the ball on the mark, you trying to get up, move off the mark, you've lost the ball three times, don't look at me and blame me." WTF?? Is that his official explanation?
Fielden was on his mark at all times. The replay shows that very clearly. He was trying to get straight up off the man beneath him (who elbowed the ball out), he didn't move anywhere off the mark. Of course he shouldn't have answered back at all and certainly shouldn't have sworn, that's was bloody stupid thing, but it doesn't help when Ganson is goading him into a response.
Terrible refereeing.

I agree. You can replace 4 or 5 players easily and there isnt a drop in the standard of the team. Indeed depending on you opinion of some players the team could be improved in your eyes.cpwigan wrote:We have the best squad in SL. Ganson. Love him or hate him you know where you stand. He stopped the early nonsense which prevented the game possibly becoming nasty, and that in turn led to a really good contest imo. I have fumed with anger at some of the weak reffing I have witnessed this season, where players start to run the games and the ref has hidden. All MM has to do is get the players to play to the rules, even if they are Ganson's, and that's it, end of problem. I'll take Ganson over any other of our spineless ref's anytime. I don't feel I have explained myself very well on this, but I know what I mean even if everyone else ends up scratching their noodles.

I get the impression having seen 2 matches this weekend that Commander Cummings decreed that his officials needed to speed up the tackle. Unfortunately, I also get the impression that he and his merry whistle blowers did not warn clubs that this would be the case.

As clear as daylight, to be a kick thru the ball has to touch the foot first, if it hits the ground its a knock-on unless its a drop goal and then there is the other rule, what colour shirt was he wearing?
