Lima will be a wonderful addition to the team.
If it's a stop gap with Hoffman that puts a different light on things but where has this been posted? I had not noticed anything about length of contract for either player.

Yes I agree with that but then there is rumour about Finch signing and so that suggests TL to 9 but I am not convinced Micky Mac and TL would give us the hooking partnership we need mostly because I am not convinced TL is a full time 9 despite playing there for NZ in the world cup.

I think TL has had his best season at 7 for us so far so I'd rather go for a 9 than a 7.

According to this:

http://www.smh.com.au/rugby-league/leag ... 107xh.html

....Hoffman has signed for a two year deal.

Mentions Finch is considering an offer from us as well.

No mention of Lima.

I hope we don't sign Hoffman and not Lima. Signing a back row forward even a very good one like Hoffman instead of a prop of Lima's calibre doesn't make sense.

i don't get this bit who if any do u want to sign?
I mean if we sign Hoffman and miss out on Lima we will have added yet another back row forward and not got the experienced prop many have been calling for for about the last three seasons. I would see it as strengthening an already strong position in the side and failing to address the prop situation.

The reports in the Aussie press are all definite about Hoffman signing for is but Lima has an offer at Souths to consider (and Finch is also only a possibility according to them).

It looks I was wrong about Hoffman being a stop gap, but he is an absolutely brilliant player. I agree about lima having the greater effect on the squad if he signs. i am sure they will be on the 7/9 case. Arguably we could do with both, unless Mellor develops super quickly.

so we are linked with 5 or 6 Melbourne players

Quinn?
Slater?
Hoffman?
Finch?
Lima?
Inglis on loan?

i think we will get Finch and all the sounds from Australia are suggesting we could be getting Hoffman aswell. we know that Riddell is leaving and some possible Aussies leaving us are Bailey and Phelps which means we have places and if Fielden has a new contract with less money and we let Feka go then we have plenty of room in the Salary Cap to work in and still bring through youngsters

The Sydney Herald states we have signed Hoffman on a two year deal and Brett Finch is considering a move to Wigan .

It has no mention of Lima joining us ,
but does say he`s leaving Melbourne.

This makes sense with Tommy moving to no 9 and Sam going to scrum half .

Hoffman would be replacing Bailey .

The Australian Paper has Hoffman signed and Lima choosing between us and an NRL club, and likely to come to us. Steve Matai, who is a class act in the centre, is choosing between us and an NRL club. If we add Finch and Hock, then we would be in fantastic shape.
Presumably Bailey, Phelps, Feca, Piggy, Carmont and Pryce will be leaving, and Fielden will re-sign on a lot less money, allowing the influx of all this quality.
4 full internationals, and a State of Origin player in return would be a fantastic trade, and give us the right balance while we bring through the young lads.
What a team we'd have then.

I think a new prop should be the first target for Wigan, the current forwards have improved a lot under Maguire but the team still lacks a player like Morley.

With Coley out against Warrington the Wigan forwards look quite small in comparison, if Wigan had another prop they would be better shape to face Wire.
