I wonder if the town centre shops will be decked out in cherry & white like they were in 1984/1985 in the run up to Wembley?

It was a joy to be in Wigan back then! One thing for sure, there will be no shortage of street vendors selling scarves,hats,rosettes etc this week! :D

:blush: Haven't been back since 1965,but my son wanted to see where his family came from,so he went there a few years back.He worked at the Brocket for a while.Sadly his impression of 21st century Wigan in general was not a glowing one :(
Might not be fair though considering he grew up in Melbourne & Brisbane:eh:

Bourbon Rat, where in Wigan did you live? A few lads from Kitt Green shipped out in the late 60s!

You know, I would really love to go from Leeds to Liverpool on a houseboat. I bet its brilliant. Unlike railway lines, canals run through beautiful countryside!

sadly not, belongs to my parents really. Best holidays we ever have, in fact only holidays we ever have!!!!
