I wonder if the town centre shops will be decked out in cherry & white like they were in 1984/1985 in the run up to Wembley?
It was a joy to be in Wigan back then! One thing for sure, there will be no shortage of street vendors selling scarves, hats, rosettes etc this week!

Haven't been back since 1965,but my son wanted to see where his family came from,so he went there a few years back.He worked at the Brocket for a while.Sadly his impression of 21st century
Wigan in general was not a glowing one
Might not be fair though considering he grew up in
Melbourne &
Brisbane :eh:

You know, I would really love to go from Leeds to Liverpool on a houseboat. I bet its brilliant. Unlike railway lines, canals run through beautiful countryside!

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
