2 match ban for Joel!
Re: 2 match ban for Joel!
Barstewards! I think it is time we started to appeal. Can understand to some extent why they don't especially if that bloke from Huddersfield is still on the panel as he openly admits to hating Wigan. Must be very difficult to get a neutral panel but they could at least make the attempt.
I think it is time all Wigan players gave the Churchilian sign to the RFL regarding international duties, it would not only give them a good rest over winter it would also save them the humiliation of being on another England team to get battered.

Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

Ex Wigan player Colin Clarke usually sits on the panel.
“Usually the fans that abuse players like Sam have never done anything of any note themselves. They’re nobodies, whose greatest claim to fame is abusing someone who has, and these so-called ‘Eddie the Experts’ pretend to their mates that they have."

Not looked at the RFL web site but if we pleaded guilty I do not think an appeal is possible.
We need to start to treat the system with the contempt all other clubs seem to do. Pleading not guilty or getting found guilty then appealing does not seem to carry any risk of increased bans.
Every other club seems to do this and get away with it. We should too.

Look at the farce that happened with Aaron Murphy of Wakefield last month.DaveO wrote:Not looked at the RFL web site but if we pleaded guilty I do not think an appeal is possible.

He pleaded not guilty - was found guilty - 2 match ban.
Appealed, pleading guilty and was found not guilty and had his ban overturned.

Absolutely right - doing the right thing and being gentlemen about it is getting us nowhere. Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

What really pi**es me off is that everyone always knew the unwritten rule that you never got a ban if there was a big game coming up. Doesn't apply to us.
Gareth Thomas before his first game: "You wanna spend 10 mins getting smashed up by these guys..Big dudes here.."

I said exactly that when Lima got banned from MM so he couldn't play in the WCCgpartin wrote:What really pi**es me off is that everyone always knew the unwritten rule that you never got a ban if there was a big game coming up. Doesn't apply to us.

I'm sat on a hotel balcony in Mexico watching all this play out. Maybe I've had too much Teqilla but I could have wrote the script for the decisions and I'm not even in the UK. Radford hit Bailey on the floor and got sent off. He was then banned for one match with the following quote from the commitee:-
"The panel have taken a great deal of time to come to the decision. You have been given credit for your long unblemished record in the game and the fact that you have pleaded guilty. In our view however this was a serious matter, virtually an assault by punching a player four times to the head who was on the ground, and although your opponent was allowed to continue with the game he did sustain a blood injury." - 7th September 2010.
So what they've quoted in the justification for letting him off this time is a blatant lie. How do they sleep at night?
