The coming of age of Josh Charnley
Re: The coming of age of Josh Charnley
He could well do or later in his career Alex. At the moment. I I like his part in the back 3 and how it gets him scooting opportunities. Either way he is a class act.

nah, Gouldings proper position is centre.THE 18th Man wrote:Goulding had a great year last year but he did it with Gleeson inside him. still a good winger but Josh has proven you can put a second rower turned centre next to him and he can still get 20 tries a season

Re: The coming of age of Josh Charnley
I do think Goulding is a centre not a winger
Re: The coming of age of Josh Charnley
In time he could be the next Billy Wiz, loads of speed and great fancy footwork to turn the defence inside out.
Re: The coming of age of Josh Charnley
If Wigan did move Josh to centre I would be interested to see how Ryan King goes. I would keep him sweet anyway for if and when Pat retires.

Is there an argument for a Goulding/Charnley partnership on the right hand side next season?
Re: The coming of age of Josh Charnley
Dn't think so, but if Amos keeps recovering we might see a Charnley/Roberts combination. I didn't get to the reserves game, but Amos scored a hat-trick in the win against Leeds, which might suggest he's getting some fitness back?Fernando Player wrote:Is there an argument for a Goulding/Charnley partnership on the right hand side next season?

Nice to hear that Amos is making some kind of recovery. To be honest I was a little brutal on the guy. With age comes the memory loss and in my case it's true.I seem to have forgotten over the years the hits and the agony suffered. This was a a bad injury sustained by Amos and I should have given the man the benefit of doubt before jumping on his back. So it's pleasing to hear that he's improving form wise and that we may see him in the first team in the near future.GeoffN wrote:Dn't think so, but if Amos keeps recovering we might see a Charnley/Roberts combination. Re: The coming of age of Josh Charnley
What are peoples thoughts.
Is Josh an out and out Winger, or could he slot into the centres like he was chosen to do when playing at Hull KR.
The reason behind my thinking is that if Amos makes a return to form, we have a difficult choice on the wing.
I would just lurv to see Amos back on song.
C'mon Amos, prove all those doubters wrong like you know you can.

Said it before and I'll say it again. Josh is as good at centre as Gleeson was and with someone like Amos outside of him we'd be murdering opposing teams left side. The only bit of doubt around Amos is whether or not he can regain his confidence in taking high balls. Pretty sure he can.Panchitta Marra wrote:What are peoples thoughts.
