Having read comments on here and other forums, I'd say the closest comparison is "Your Mother is a Whore” comment made to Eric Cantona. And keeping with the same comparison, young Sam should be congratulated on his restraint!

One of the drawbacks of the internet and message boards and social networking sites in particular is that we tend to assume everyone who posts is an adult with more than a single brain cell but the reality is this could be some spotty faced oik who is still wet behind the ears but who becomes macho man on the other end of a keyboard. On the other hand it could just be some bitter twisted opposition fan and I don't know what the answer is but it must be very hard to live with if you see rubbish like that written about you so I really hope the players just don't read any of these sites.

To do this, no matter what provocation was offered in terms of name calling, was utterly stupid. The biggest game of the season, bar none, coverage on BBC1, and he does this.
He will be lucky to get away without a three or four game ban.
Idiotic.

Someone has posted already that its not a disciplinary offence as far as they can find on the RFL rules. Its more a breach of the spirit of the game. So hopefully a fine and a smack on the wrist

It was meant to be a ban until the end of 2012 but the RFL being so inept typed it wrong!
