So in over 10 seasons we've had at the JJB/DW staidum one or two games moved. Is that worth the £25 million it would cost to build a new ground, assuming of course that the council would 1) approve another stadium in the borough, and 2)find land to build it. And of course how do you think it would be funded? You need a reality check.
. I dunt need a reality check on the slightest I think its a utter disgrace that we play second fiddle to a soon to be 1st division side, we should have our own ground, st Helens new ground looks absolutly stunning and it's their own ground which is what Wigan should have

But you are not answering the questions.
1) Where would the funding come from?
2) Where would it be?
3) Do you think the council would approve it?

The money is the problem I know, it would take alot of financial backing and we don't have it, the location would not be a problem and surely the council would approve it, Wigan is renowned for Wigan rugby league and to have our own ground and identity back would be a big plus, use Salford as an example, small team with a small average attendance yet theyhave had a new ground approved albeit it's only a tidy small ground but it still got the backing, I might be living in a dreamworld but how much better would it be going to a game knowing it's just your ground.

Salford are having to move their ground out of Salford. Wigan council would NOT approve the building of another stadium, it would not make economic sense for two stadia to be competing for the same functions. The best bet for Wigan RL to own a ground would be to purchase the DW but that won't happen. Wigan Rls rent at the DW is so unbelievably low that actually buying and running a stadium is a no goer.

It stinks when the club captain, a player who has given 10 loyal years of service cannot have his testimonial game staged at the clubs home ground.

Lockers has stuck with the club during the bad seasons we've had even though he likely had offers to go and play in the NRL.

He must be allowed to have his testiomonial at the DW, lets hope that IL and DW can get it sorted out. Lockers deserves it!

Another nail thanks to Wolverhampton today...

and: Bloody hell not another stadium wantage! Best stadium in the league and we get it cheap. Puts that topic to bed.

I don't mind us having away games for friendlies I've been waiting to go to Post Office road again... been a while if the Fev game is pencilled in. Not change Halifax to thrum hall while we're at it? (if its still there)

As already stated Latics are on their way out of the PL BUT the notion of our own ground is a non starter and what for? The right to play the occasional friendly?
