Is that not winning something  :D

Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.

Every coach will bring something different to a team so comparisons would always be difficult but in this case Shaun Wane has only been in charge of the team for a few months so totally impossible to compare like with like. After 4 months I thought Madge was a breath of fresh air and doing great things for the team and the club, after his first season I thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread and that continued until a couple of months into his 2nd year when he threw the solids at the air conditioning and said he was leaving, after that we just kind of ticked over, squad wasn't rotated in any way and the younger players didn't get their chances as they did in his first year in fact it was almost like the first team was run into the ground until they ran out of energy and fitness when it mattered most. For me Madge spent more time recruiting for his new team in that second year even to the extent of arranging the pre-season friendly with Wire for the following season rather than managing his existing squad and he just became an opportunist looking after his own preferences - I understand that to some extent but for us and the team it was no good. I still think Madge was good for us and a talented coach but if I had to choose between the two I'd have Shaun Wane every time and I just hope he goes on from strength to strength and becomes the greatest coach we have ever had as there is no doubting where his loyalties are - he's as big a fan of the team as we are :D

Even the players were saying they were knackered after the CC final & thought they would have been rotated until the play-offs but it didn't happen.

I felt exactly the same when he, Maguire, decided to leave. He was looking to his new club's signings etc rather than giving his all for the club he was still employed by.

I'd have Shaun Wane every time, yeah he has made a few errors & hopefully he has learned from it but nobody is perfect even St Michael!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Madge is certainly tapping up players IMO but then so did John Monie when he went to the NZ Warriors.

You're quite right cpwigan and part of me can understand it - doesn't mean I like it of course. I just hope he doesn't progress to some of our home grown players and start poaching them. RFL could do with altering the salary cap in some way to make it less of an incentive for our own to be tempted over there, maybe a two tier cap with higher pay being allowed to UK players and leave the cap where it is for overseas players who should also have to sign a contract agreeing to sell their granny if they jump ship early. Having said that I also would like to see players like Pat Richards, George Carmont and the likes of Brett Dallas rewarded for their loyalty to us. Guess there is no easy answer.

Correct
I think the title of Leeds WCC Champs 2012 gives it away a little bit.

Madge is a great coach but some players are going better under Wane. Our pack for most of this season have destroyed some very good teams. No side looks like getting the better of us.

Where Madge was a great coach i see Wane in the mould of Mike Gregory players would run through a wall for him. Also the attack has been the best i have ever seen. (watching since 1995 in case i get a history lesson) We look like scoring from any where at any time. First tackle if a move is on then we will go for it. Madge would not have done some of the moves we do so early and so often in the tackle count. Thats due to the dominance of our pack.

The players are loving the free reign they have in attack. Finch has been outstanding not only in attack but his scramble defence is phenomenal. Best attack and defence in the league and we look fresher and more clinical than last year. I was skeptical of Wane at the start but he has got our lads playing some brilliant Rugby League. I'd say Wane.
