Got a hot rumour from a source inside the club, or just something you heard down the pub? Then what are you waiting for, post it on The Rumour Mill.

I have been a fan of Jamie Soward for years, he would make an excellent signing but im afraid this will never happen, yes we face the prospect of losing Finch aswell next year, but Soward is 27 now, would take up too much of the salary cap, it would just end up being another retirement fund i feel. We have great players in the youth system so anyone we bring in I feel should just be a short term replacement. Dont get me wrong if Soward came I would be elated.. and we would have more cover in the kicking area - because lets face facts.. without Pat yes we have Charnley who is a mediocre kicker.. Sam can kick if its bang on in front of the sticks(even though he has been seen to miss these aswell) Soward is a good 6 but not the best option. If we were all living in my dreamland where else should we look than Benji Marshall? (i know this would never happen in a million - but people can dream).

RIO HAILS FINCH
South Sydney recruitment target Brett Finch has been praised by Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand after starring in Wigan's 50-8 demolition of Super League premiers Leeds last weekend. Ferdinand was at the match as a guest of Wigan fullback Sam Tomkins and tweeted: ''@samtomkins1, aka Messi, Micky Mcillorrum + Mr Finch are my favourite RL players now. Classy!'' Wigan coach Shaun Wane has confirmed that Finch's future at the club is uncertain and the Herald recently reported that he may be headed to Souths. ''We've made an offer to him and he's deciding what to do,'' Wane said. In another twist, SinBin has been told that St George Illawarra five-eighth Jamie Soward is considering a three-year offer to join Wigan. Meanwhile, Ferdinand - a surprise omission from England's Euro 2102 squad - celebrated Wigan's win by dancing and singing the team song with the players in the dressing room afterwards. ''It's stuff like that I like about rugby league and the contact and brutality of it all is class,'' Ferdinand told the Yorkshire Post. ''It's brilliant to watch. Wigan - they were the team when I was a kid.''

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.

I really do hope this happens ! with the matty smith deal seeming more than likely to happen (although its not confirmed) he will need a more experienced head with him in the halves and soward has bags of that he has played in the major finals in the nrl plus a world club challenge coincidentally against us and has represented nsw, but not only does this deal help the team in general because of his kicking game, organisational skills and passing, but it also show the world of rugby league that we are a team that can attract the top quality as well as win major trophies and that then might open the eyes of big players looking to join in the future. And although i'd rather have proven super league quality than nrl quality a man of this guys quality might not find it that hard to settle down and besides there isnt that many good half backs whod be willing to join wigan except brough, chase and dureau and even out of those three they all play for the 'smaller teams'. Also with george most likely going to retire, leuluai going to nz and finch and lima going elsewhere there would be space under our cap and our overseas players

Well I don't think Smith plus one of our juniors is going to work so I hope you are right that we can get an experienced half back of high quality.

If we went with the Smith + junior player option it might work for a month or two but as the season progresses I think it would run out of steam.

The high quality bit is also very important! We are losing a lot of quality with Finch and Tommy going in the half backs so whoever we sign has got to be up there in the quality stakes.
