Apologies to Butt and Exile for intruding in your battle of words, but just to put the record straight the £sterling is today worth $1.5 Australian. At £1 to $A1 we would indeed be a bankrupt country!
Carry on chaps it's great reading.

Signed when they realised Wigan would be looking for a half back AND a goalkicker!Wandering Warrior wrote:I suspect Dureaux would be a lot of people's choice, however feel free to correct me if I'm wrong over the fact[!] he signed at contract extension a few weeks ago[/b], thus meaning big money transfer!

Dereaux is worse defensively than Chase. Regarding the recruitment of a goal kicker, this will become a must in the next 12 months or so!Kittwazzer wrote:Signed when they realised Wigan would be looking for a half back AND a goalkicker!Wandering Warrior wrote:I suspect Dureaux would be a lot of people's choice, however feel free to correct me if I'm wrong over the fact[!] he signed at contract extension a few weeks ago[/b], thus meaning big money transfer!

Widdop is a very good player, hence the reason why he is in the Melbourne team (top of the comp). There is no way that the Storm would release him.Big Mac wrote:Wonder who we are looking at in nrl? The problem you have now is that the NRL salary cap has grown, the £ to a $Aus is far poorer, some loopholes may have been closed too. Attracting top NRL players is very hard unless you sell it as a 12 month deal, see the world, go back home. Bit like the mid 80's.
British youngsters are becoming high in demand. Wire tried to buy George Williams from us the other week. We told them to do one!!

IIRC, George had extensive talks with both Wigan AND Wire before putting pen to paper!TrueBlueWarrior wrote:Wire really annoy me, listen Wire improve your YOUTH DEVELOPMENT and then you won't have to spend silly money on other peoples youngsters, as if we are going to sell him!!
