It would seem that Wigan are being singled out by referees and the RFL. Having said that, Micky is contributing to his own downfall and he needs to smarten up.

On Friday, despite the protestaions of other Wigan fans, I defended him. Having reviewed the footage, I have come to the conclusion that I was wearing rose tinted (cherry and white) glasses! The tackle was late (which in normal circumstances would not warrant a sending off)but worse still it was late, high and a vicious! However Child arrived at the decision he was right in red carding Micky.

The gripe that I, and many others, have is the consistency of referees in such circumstances - they have now made a rod for their own backs as we go into the play offs.

Hopefully, Micky will learn the error of his ways and change his approach to tackling whilst still maintaining the same level of aggression.

Well I must be poor of sight as I cannot see a clear picture that shows me exactly how / where Mac made contact. Sure I can speculate but can anybody be sure. The player he supposedly cleaned out carried on after did he not?

The RFL could not give a hoot. Wigan are taken for granted as 16,000 mugs will turn up match after match to support their team whatever. The RFL would much rather a repeat of the BullMania scenario and do not care a jot what the consequences are.

kell suprise Ban up held 3 game ban still applies.

its on the official web site now in the news section.

This stinks to high heaven, just hope the rest of the team takes it as a challenge to shove it up the RFL and get the Grand Final.

I thought it was just me and there was an angle that I hadn't seen but all the angles look as if the tackle is round the neck and it's more of a closing of MM's arm round the neck than a swinging arm to the head. Certainly doesn't look as if it warranted the "I've been whacked by Mike Tyson" reaction.

Still - the RFL and referees are never wrong and never respond.

Best thing would be to win it and invite MM to lift the trophy.

Ban Upheld

At an appeal hearing on Wednesday Michael McIlorum's three game ban has been upheld and the appeal dismissed.

McIlorum had been found guilty of a Grade C reckless high tackle offence and received a three game suspension and a £300 fine. He was dismissed for the offence against Anthony Laffranchi of St Helens in the 15th minute of the Stobart Super League Round 27 fixture last Friday at the DW Stadium.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Was Laffranchi actually injured in this incident or did he have the milk stool with him? I remember seeing him with a bandaged head later on but didn't think it was anything to do with this particular tackle. Our players will have to learn to play dead themselves sometimes if it was a touch of amdram - not you though Sam they wouldn't believe you if someone knocked your head off.
Both Saints and Wire seem to be on a mission to wind our players up and they have to learn not to fall for it or we are doomed after all we have finished 2 of the 4 matches against St Helens this year with players red carded and both Wire and Leeds have got in our faces early on and caused chaos
Never argue with an idiot. He will bring you down to his level and beat you with experience.

For all you posters saying MM deserved his 3 game ban and being sent off so get over it, well I think you are missing the point. Ok there is some debate as to whether MM deserved to be sent off or banned for his actions, however, I feel a ban and the sending off was deserved. The issue is simply the LACK OF CONSISTENCY AND DOWN RIGHT CORRUPTION OF THE RFL AND NOT MM GETTING SENT OFF OR BANNED, please catch on.

Oh. Now you wrote it out in capital letters everything is much clearer.
Some posters clearly need it!

Still, it seems several people have been discussing the sending off specifically and whether it was correct or not. I don't necessarily think they need to 'catch on' and discuss the aspect you want them to.
Fair enough Cherry but the bottom line is, he was sent off and got a 3 game ban whether you agree or not, for me to many posters are just agreeing with that and not appreciating the corruption or to put it nicely the unfairness of the RFL towards Wigan as a club, which I think is far more of an issue than MM's suspension. The reason I say that is MM will be back at the start of next season but worryingly so will the disgusting bias from the RFL, that is not good for our Club, at all, going off recent disciplinary hearings.

Can anybody prove that Mac hit Laffranchi ? Try to recreate what many incl some here are suggesting and it is not easy to do.
