Re: Some real positives
A team with that many youngsters can only improve, the sky is the limit. Compare that to Warrington, Morley, Hodgson & Briers etc are not going to get any better.
How good was it to see Greg Burke play with so much maturity on debut !
Like CPW said, Thornley was excellent in defence & Goulding was class.

Thornley, Goulding, Matty and Farrell really stood out to me they stood up and really dug in against the pundits favourites.

Re: Some real positives
Considering Warrington were at full strength, we had three players missing and had to put with a referee showing his usual bias, a draw was a moral victory for Wigan.

Where in sport can you see a team that has so much of it's squad actually from it's town. This squad beats the man utd fergie team. Beckham not from Manchester, Nevilles from Bury, scholes from Oldham, not Manchester.
I can only compare it to the Celtic team of latter years that had the whole of it's team from Glasgow.
Very proud to watch them turn out a performance against the size of the Warrington forwards. Extremely tenacious. As much as it's great when you see world class players from oz like Barrett etc, you can't beat the feeling of seeing home grown talent in numbers.
I think there's a far better chance of keeping tomkins by creating such a group that it would make it so difficult to leave an environment like that. plenty of ups and downs I expect this year but I think this team can only Improve as the season .

Also well done to Mr Wane and his coaching staff, after all the rubbish he has had on here it was a very good display. A great start and after his comments after the game we can look forward to it getting even better.

Great to have a lot of positives to give us that 'feel good factor'.

Well it has surprised me for sure but lets not get to carried away.Warrington were slighly the better team but hats off to our deffence especialy in the second half when we were really up against it.I am a lot happier about our prospects after that preformance and like what has already been said before this team can only get betterWigan Warriors No 1 fan wrote:I really hope that shuts up any doubters because I thought we were definatly the better team and they all they all thought we were going to get hammered
