Even then I can't see the terms allowing Wigan RL to he fleeced via unreasonable rent increases.
We use it far fewer times than Latics, don't make any money out of the concessions and as it is a modern stadium I would imagine the fixed running costs are not that great anyway.
Game day expenses such as stewarding and policing won't be part of any rent either.
I suppose Latics could try it on and suggest we pay 50% of the fixed costs even though we use it far less but given there is no one else going to take our place Wigan RL are in a strong bargaining position.
Correct, and they will be using it an awful lot more next season. I shudder to think what state the pitch will be in come next February. Maybe we'll have a case for a rent reduction!
At least we will not be subject to the Premier League rule about not playing a certain time before the Latic's or will we still be, seeing that Whelan regrettably owns the Stadium ?
I am not sure but I don't think it should be a problem. I think the European games are played on a Thursday and rearranged games on a Sunday.
So unless we don't want to play the day after a European game should we have a fixture in the same week on a Friday it ought to be OK.

Think they have a different mindset over there though PW
The big difference is that the KC stadium is owned by Hull City Council and both teams are tenants, and their rental agreement is nowhere near as good as Wigans.

Actually Hull City Council and Kingston Communications who run the local telephone system.

Its owned by Hull City Council. KC are just sponsors.

Wasn't that '24 hour rule' trashed last year? I'm sure it was exposed as a myth made up by DW to keep the pitch clean for his Latics. In any case I can't see it affecting Hull as neither team can claim greater stadium rights. And if Hull Council has the same attitude as the former member for Hull East, I can't see the FA trying to flex its muscles in the city!

More than sponsors, as they put in a lot of money into the building of the Stadium in conjunction with the Council and that is why it is called the KC Stadium. Kingston Communications is now the name of a private company which took over the running of the telephone system in the Hull area when the Council decided too sell off what was the only telephone system in the country owned by a council.
A similar arrangement applies to the Reebok Stadium in Bolton where the Reebok company also financially helped the Club and the Council to build the Stadium because their business was founded in the town.
