Bradford Bulls captain – and temporary coach – Matt Diskin has said that the decision to sack head coach Francis Cummins and assistant Lee St Hilaire was the wrong one for the club’s future.
The duo were dismissed on Monday following Bradford’s defeat to Salford Red Devils, with Diskin placed in charge ahead of Friday’s game against Hull Kingston Rovers.
And Diskin has told fans that he doesn’t agree with the decision – but respects the decision of the board moving forward.
“We have to respect the board’s decision regarding the dismissal of Francis and Lee. Saying that, we don’t have to agree with it and personally I think it is the wrong decision in regards to the club’s long-term future,” Diskin said on his Twitter account.
“The facts are that we are in a results-based industry and as a group of players we have not transferred the skills, game plans and attitude that is of a high standard on the training field into our competitive games.
“This is something some of the most successful coaches in the world would struggle to remedy.”

I am guessing he means they are both mates from Leeds so Diskin is miffed his mate got the boot.
I think the more surprising comment is from the other quotes which is this:
“Having said that, I do not for one minute believe or see this as an opportunity to achieve anything as a coach.”
Has he given up before he has started? He'd better achieve something or Bradford are relegated.
