Firstly the direction and speed of the full back and ref are exactly the same gaz hock side steps right around the full back yet for some reason doesn't Try this again to get round the ref

Secondly he clearly dips his shoulder into the ref before impact he shows no signs of trying to pull out and isn't losing his balance as he is steady on his feet before and after

Thirdly I have to laugh at the "brush" comment the guy is lifted off his feet and sent 5 yards along the floor hardly a brush!

People feel the need to defend hock but he isn't worthy of it, it's like the ones who we're jumping to his defence when he was kicked out the England team rather than simply facing the fact that had he not broke the rules he would of stayed in.

He is a very stupid human being an clearly incapable of staying out of trouble
He is daft and a fool to himself but I don't think he's malicious.

Accidental, careless, reckless or deliberate. According to Paul Cullen, this is what the disciplinary have to consider. Did he deliberately knock the official on his backside? I don't think so. He was at worst, for me, reckless but IMO careless is the most appropriate.

With his record though, it doesn't look good for him.

I think it is quite reasonable to see the England incident as one where McNamara was in the wrong given Hock wasn't the only offender while at the same time not necessarily thinking it was an accident he hit the ref this time.

The panel are going to have to decide if there was intent there or not. Very hard to do. If they base their judgment on an opinion he is basically stupid as opposed to what they see they won't be doing their job.

Thing is with the England saga - yes mac banana was in the wrong for his part of the saga HOWEVER this does not change the fact that hock could have avoided it all by not breaking the rules. It's like the folk who get done for doing 33mph in a 30 zone yes is petty but if you did 30 you wouldn't gave been done.

If I had hocks history I would be 100% focused on staying out of trouble that means playing by the rules it doesn't matter what others do or don't do and that is the bit the people paste over.

That's his season over then.
Shame really, always liked Hock as a player despite everything that goes with him.

Inevitable but what is annoying is that pushing a referee over is somehow seen twice / three times as bad as tackles that could put a player in a wheelchair for the rest of his life.

So what are you advocating CP? it is ok to put your hands on an official.

Deserved ban, good player but complete sh**house - Edited Josie

Don't know how wigan fans can defend him after the way he treated the club after all they'd done for him.

I am saying that the penalty is disproportionate to the act given how lenient potential career ending fouls are so leniently treated in comparison.

I verbally abused many a match official when playing but I never once considered putting a hand on one. However, far too often it has become the norm in SL.

Gaz Hock was obviously totally different. Did he want to hurt the official NO was it incredibly stupid almost a prank YES.

Was Gaz Hocks actions worse than those of several Catalan players at the weekend? NO IMO.
