He's not leaving, unless we push him through the door before his contract is up! He will however, not sign a new contract unless things change within the club. We have lost the plot if we think that Smith is the type of player to take this club forward (I'm not saying he is a bad player but simply not good enough for us - he was a gap signing). Rocky has got immense talent and lots of improvement in him. Will he be a star? Only time will tell, but playing at fullback and at Workington will not help his development.southportcdm wrote:If the rumours about Rocky leaving are true than I'd be happy to have Ratchford at 6 and George at 7. This would give us a lot more flexibility in attack. We'd also be in a position where we could swap Sam and Ratchford between 1 and 6 to find the best balance. As things stand, Rocky doesn't seem likely to get a game at 6 and my worry is that we lose him and don't sign Ratchford we just get Bridge!

Re: Ratchford
Thats sort of good to hear SEFC as one guy on RLfans is adamant Rocky has signed for saints and another guy reckons he has signed a 2 year contract extension.

Agreed. An image I certainly could have managed without!josie andrews wrote:That is an awful thought ????God wrote:Ratchford will be great at Wigan in the centre and can cover fullback and Stand Off.
I would pull my bollocks out to sign him if he became available.
Re: Ratchford
I think with Ratchford his greatest value is his utility role. I never see him as a starter anywhere bar fullback and that is a non starter at Wigan.

Another Kevin O'Loughlin in my book, but with the addition of being a good goal kicker as wellcpwigan wrote:I think with Ratchford his greatest value is his utility role. I never see him as a starter anywhere bar fullback and that is a non starter at Wigan.

When you have such potential that Hampshire has continually shown throughout his career, it would surely be foolish not to at least give him chance to demonstrate this in the position he has been so affective throughout his career.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:He's not leaving, unless we push him through the door before his contract is up! I'm pleased you have said what you've said SEFC, as at least there is still a chance that Hampshire will stay.

Who says? Contracts mean nothing now and if Ratchford wants to leave then that will be the outcome depending on two clubs agreeing a transfer fee.Wes wrote:Stef has 2 years left on his deal and is apparently going nowhere!!

Re: Ratchford
To me PM Hampshire is overrated but I do think he deserves a chance at some point at 6 but let's not forget one thing Wane is one stubborn sod and as made his mind up that Ryan's a Fullback which we the fans can clearly see is not the case, so I doubt as long as wane is in charge we will see him get a chance at 6Panchitta Marra wrote:When you have such potential that Hampshire has continually shown throughout his career, it would surely be foolish not to at least give him chance to demonstrate this in the position he has been so affective throughout his career.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:He's not leaving, unless we push him through the door before his contract is up! Re: Ratchford
Hampshire ain't going to get a shot, when are people going to realise and stop going on about it, it's obvious he has an attitude problem and isn't as good as we are constantly told by one or three members, if he was truely amazing he would have pushed himself into the team by now, if he was a nice lad without the big "I Am" attitude then he wouldn't be shouting the odds at our esteemed coach, he would be biding his time until opportunity knocks for him, but as i suspect he want's everything now, definitely not the attitude we need at Wigan
