Wigan v Hudds
Re: Wigan v Hudds
Not a pretty game of rugby(how could it be with Mr Crabtree playing?)but enjoyable nonetheless.
Smith,Bateman and Farrell excellent last night a pleasure to watch them,Dom Manfredi I'm sure will grow into his new role so we're going to have to give him time.
As for the atmosphere it was ok quiet to begin with but people got chatty as we went behind with a couple of cracking comments from behind me when the announcer got Crosbys name wrong when he scored.

10-0 down their kick return and massive hit from none other than SOL on Crabtree got the crowd and our team going!! Quality man he is!!markill wrote:It started flat and almost complacently in the atmosphere. But the crowd picked up when we put some big hits in at 10-0 down. Nervous tension in the last 10/15 took over. No worse than any other day's atmosphere against the Giants that I've ever experienced though.

I also think Clubb is becoming one of those players who's defence can raise the crowd.TrueBlueWarrior wrote:10-0 down their kick return and massive hit from none other than SOL on Crabtree got the crowd and our team going!! I believe the GF will be contested by 2 teams from Wigan/Leeds/Saints. Seriously don't think any of the others are good enough!Suzieb wrote:Well i think theres going to have to be some serious changes in this wigan team to win anything MOST of last nights performance was abismel think its to late this season now we,ve got 2 hard games to contend with hope i get proved wrong

The shortcomings we all saw last night have been present all season and we have had constant reassurances that they will be worked upon . Well we have seen the result and that is we have not improved one bit as a team.

But we don't need to be the best team in Super League. That is Leeds. We just need to be better than the team we play in any given match!Second Row wrote:The shortcomings we all saw last night have been present all season and we have had constant reassurances that they will be worked upon . That is true if all you are interested in is the result. If you want to watch some quality play winning ugly numerous times doesn't cut it.Kittwazzer wrote:But we don't need to be the best team in Super League. That is Leeds. The players may be fitter these days but the skill level is dire compared to the 80's and 90's.

DO you mean during the period that there was no salary cap and Wigan signed all the top International players they could and we ended up watching one sided games with cricket scores, even when playing away.DaveO wrote:That is true if all you are interested in is the result. Yes, plenty of skill but only from one team!
