Re: Josh Charnley
I rate Josh as amongst the best wingers in Superleague when he is at his best. Last season was largely a write off for him, with some poor performances, injuries and lack of game time due to competition for his spot.
His form this season looks very impressive, almost back to his best.
Would he do well at Sale RUFC? Probably
Would he break into into the national team? Probably not, or if he did it would likely be another Kyle Eastmond/Joel Tomkins/Sam Burgess scenario. The bottom line for me is if he stays he gets my 100% support and if he goes I'll wish him well but there will be Union die hards who perversely hope he flops.
I would be very interested to know where Charnley is on the pay scale at our club, and who he's on a par with (but I'm sure we'll never know that).

Re: Josh Charnley
Josh's form has improved immeasurably this season but he is not back to his best and I don't think he will ever recover his best form because he has lost pace. Would I have him at Wigan? Yes, unless Budgie was to return or we could find a winger of equal standing. The booze hound wrote:I rate Josh as amongst the best wingers in Superleague when he is at his best. Will he be at Wigan next season? I don't for one minute think he will because the club cannot compete with the salary Sale has offered! Do I blame him? Not in the slightest, he will have seen out his contract and if he can secure his future financially then he should do so.

What, not even when he was with Goulding and gained International selection.cpwigan wrote:Never seen him play, any good

Sam Tomkins gifted him International selection, NOT GouldingWhelley Warrior wrote:What, not even when he was with Goulding and gained International selection.cpwigan wrote:Never seen him play, any good

Id still rather Josh stayed than went.
Re: Josh Charnley
Is there any real evidence of this? I haven't seen him given a clear run where pure pace was required once so far this season.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:

Apart from goal kicking I think mantellato has very little to offer Wigan or rugby league in general. He'd struggle to stand out in champs league 1 if he couldn't kick goals.medlocke wrote:He was ok a few seasons back, went off him last year with hisPanchitta Marra wrote:Is Josh a Wigan player you don't rate meds?medlocke wrote:You always get one who has to spoil things

Not my cup of tea for a winger.
