That is not a bad call - a dounle header

Originally, the venue was chosen on distance between the two clubs. It seems to be ignore now and the Friday timing is a mare. You would think Wire would be better on a Friday as they are on their doorstep whilst Wakey never travel in numbers.

Leigh is equally unfair to Wakefield.
Said the same to my wife, utterly unfair on Wakey and hardly close for our lot travelling there.

Semi Finals have always been unfair to one club, especially cross county games.

Now the games are dependent on the expected size of attendance and the what grounds, especially modern ones to fit the image of modern game sport on television.

Years ago, nearly all semi finals were played at Central Park and Headingley, but that was in the days when they drew large crowds which is no longer the case unless Leeds, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan are drawn to play each other and then the bigger Stadiums are selected.

Over the years, many of the Semi Finals involving Wigan were played at Headingley with Central Park used for the other one.

My only objection to the game being played at Doncaster is it being played on a Friday evening which has already effected members of my family being unable to attend because of work commitments. If it was on the Sunday, it would have been a good day out, but now it is the usual drag across the M62 in the rush hour period.

Supporters should make their discontentment of Challenge Cup games where you have to pay being played on Friday evenings to the RFL.

choice of venues shows the declining numbers of people watching our great game .
Wigan is and always will be a town of Cherry & White

It's almost a 200 mile & 4 hours round trip for Wigan fans compared to a 92 mile & 1 1/2 hours round trip for Hull fans ????

Where is the fairness in that??

TV viewers are all they are interested in Josie that 4hours round trip will probably be 4 hours each way at that time of day ,without accidents on the M62.I am not scaremongering but travellers will need to make allowances. My circle of five friends will not be going I'm afraid.
Last year saw the first-ever Friday night televised semi-final on the BBC between Leeds and St Helens which drew in a TV audience of over 1.3million.

Gutted about this. I won't be going now!

1) you need a half day off work
2) you need to drive or get the coach
3) It'll be a 5 hr round trip bare minimum

Absolutely gutted!

Put it on a saturday or sunday and I'm at any venue they choose. Friday night?

the ground will be 3/4's full of Hull fans now, making a 'neutral' venue not very 'neutral'

All for the sake of BBC's viewing figures.

Not viewing figures, but other events or programmes which they deemed more important than our game.

I'm not sure what other sports they have on that weekend WW, but last year was the first time the BBC put a CC semi final on (leeds v saints) and they got 1.3 million viewers, this will be the prime slot for figures, hence our game on the friday not saturday afternoon.
