With Waney signing a 3 year deal end of 2014 then he won't go until 2017 season is finished, if then.
If he wins a trophy or trophies between now and then I reckon he'll stay.

On that basis, they are in a much worse predicament than we are, coach wise!

They supposedly have much better players than we have including, the once, two best players in the world!!

So what makes you think he would be any good for us now??

Is he not a one or two hit wonder?? Has he gone as far as he can?

He came to us & it was all shiny, new & exciting.

A young Aussie coach, bringing all that new confidence, different ways plus some NRL coaching methods. All that rubbed off on the entire squad, the rest of the coaching staff even us fans. We were on a massive trip. We felt we could beat anyone & we could, we did. We were on a wave of euphoria.

He coached us to our first SL title for many years & CC final win since 2002!

He left us after two seasons to coach the Rabbitohs. A team that were & had been defeated for many years, a team very much like Wigan, without direction, without confidence.

Again, he was all shiny & new. But now he came to them with a reputation.

He'd taken Wigan Warriors, the greatest & most famous club to many in the NRL, to their first GF win for umpteen years! He'd won the coveted Challenge Cup too.

He swept those players, club & supporters of the Rabbitohs, up in the same new found confidence that he did at Wigan.

What has suddenly happened? Has his coaching methods plateaued? That sounds very similar to Shaun Wane according to some. Has he taken Rabbitohs as far as he can??

So again I ask, what makes you think he can take us to those dizzy heights again when he has failed to take Rabbitohs to a GF since that first season with them?

At least we have been in several SL GF's, since he left. And we have won the double in a season!

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

And how much better would he have coped with the permanently depleted squad and all the injuries/suspensions, so the team was never settled ?

His method of operation included buying leading, top names to bolster the squad, so he'd face a completely new situation with a team up to its salary cap limit, yet with up to 50% of its playing staff on the sidelines.

Souths have had a similar run of injuries/discipline problems in their team like us this season, so it's not a given he'd have handled things any better with the players at his disposal ?

Madge and the Souths have been terrible for two seasons now, one good season is all he's had there. So if Shaun Wane has failed then what has Madge since out of the two Wane has been the most successful

Lol f all to do with it, last season Tom and George played well and it's not Sam, Tom or George that's the problem this season. Tom is going the Dragons because they need to make room in the cap not because of any problems.
Typical response expected from a Internet forum or fb group, you can only run the same plays so many times before you get worked out. Madge's tactics are predictable and without change they continue to get beat

Enlighten me then with your Burgess theory, cover both these last two seasons and base it on fact not just your opinion without following the club.

Their success was built on exceptional seasons from Sam Burgess and Greg Inglis. They haven't been able to replicate that, Sam doesn't look the same since he came back anyway, the rest of the squad isn't all that really, and they weakened it further to get Sam back under the cap. Their most effective strike player, Alex Johnston, hardly gets a pass.
