Nor was it malicious. It was more naughty than dirty, in my view of course. 10 minutes on the naughty step would have sufficed.cpwigan wrote:It wasn't a tacklemedlocke wrote:Nothing more than an ill timed non malicious tackle made to look worse by SKYs love of the dramatic slow motion shot

Re: Flower Charged
charging kicks down rarely presents a benefit to the side doing so. I much prefer the Aussies approach were they tackle the kicker, this reduces the risk of giving a penalty away, it stops the kicker chasing his kick and placing his teammates on side and it puts him under pressure. Flowers technique was poor and led to his downfall. Whether it was malicious only Benny will know.

Re: Flower Charged
Fair play to the lad Patton he got straight up with no histrionics and that's the way it should be.No one injured in the attempted tackle/block so sending off sufficient. If the lad was seriously hurt then flower should be banned according to the injury sustained. You knew full well that as soon as Eddie and Stevo saw it was flower they would go into full Muppet mode.If Wellens had done the same thing he would have just missed timed the tackle so on with the game but because it's flower then suddenly it's a disgrace.Just because it looked bad on TV does not justify a long ban if there is hardly any physical contact involved IE no injuries. If you start going down the road of banning people for intent then it's a slippery slope.

I think charge downs are too high risk but I do think kick pressure is great so bit of a ?shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:charging kicks down rarely presents a benefit to the side doing so. Sending off should have been sufficient, although certain people on here with hidden agendas will no doubt make themselves heard for hours upon hours

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
