The tackle wasn't complete. Gildart was still trying to promote the ball. He was facing the wrong way to be playing the ball. If he was playing the ball he would just have rolled over... unless he was trying to steal yards. Which is getting penalised.pedro wrote:you push up to stand up, the tackle was completed.Toosmooth wrote:Gildart was pushing up. The only way for Ferres to complete the tackle, was to push him back down. It's unfortunate Gildart got injured, but a 4 game would be harsh IMO. Ferres has had a checkered past, but he's a victim of circumstances here.

Ferres is not in any way the victim in this as you suggested, he is the offender and his apology was worthless.Toosmooth wrote:The tackle wasn't complete. First you slander a professional sportsman in Ferres as being a thug, and now I sound like...BriH wrote:I was going to reply to this comment formally but that would be giving it credence.Toosmooth wrote:Gildart was pushing up. So Ferres didn't get a grade E charge and a 6-match ban?Toosmooth wrote:The tackle wasn't complete. Gildart was still trying to promote the ball. He was facing the wrong way to be playing the ball. Footballers spend 90 minutes pretending they're injured. Rugby League players spend 80 minutes pretending they're not.
Re: Gildart out for three months with 'serious back injury'!!
If Ferres gives up on the tackle before the ref calls held and the opposition break from it, he gets a bollocking from his coach. He pushed down a bit too far. As I've stated, the ref didn't even pick up on it. There are small margins in this game. That's probably when the punishment is bang down the middle of the band.yokozuna wrote:So Ferres didn't get a grade E charge and a 6-match ban?Toosmooth wrote:The tackle wasn't complete. I don't find much wrong with BriH's comments. There have been much worse!Toosmooth wrote:First you slander a professional sportsman in Ferres as being a thug, and now I sound like...BriH wrote:I was going to reply to this comment formally but that would be giving it credence.Toosmooth wrote:Gildart was pushing up. And why ask just me to moderate them? I'm not the only moderator on this forum although everyone seems to think I am!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Ferres pushed Gildart down, lifted him up to gain momentum to forcefully get him down again in a crusher tackle.Toosmooth wrote:Gildart was pushing up. No circumstances there, just pure intent¡¡¡¡
Re: Gildart out for three months with 'serious back injury'!!
I don't like Ferres. I think he was a desperation signing and I think he's come back overweight. However he still needs defending. There was absolutely no intent to injure. It's not like he punched someone who was lying on the ground. That guy should've been sacked. Or will Ferres have served his punishment in 6 games time?Panchitta Marra wrote:Ferres pushed Gildart down, lifted him up to gain momentum to forcefully get him down again in a crusher tackle.Toosmooth wrote:Gildart was pushing up. Don't be a tool! Ferres got sinbinned, received a six game ban but did nothing, how did you square that circle?Toosmooth wrote:I don't like Ferres. I've never stated he did nothing. I was responding to the 'just pure intent' comment. One incident is the result of one man being stronger than the other in a tackle. The other is an atrocious example to be setting to children.shaunedwardsfanclub wrote:Don't be a tool!
