The forwards never made a yard last season and this season there's no change,small players getting dominated. At least next week we won't have Ellis starting.

Outplayed today, very sloppy from us and Catalans did the basics spot on.
Nobody seems to have mentioned Bateman? I feel like he’s stealing a living at the moment, shadow of his former self since he’s been back.
Also Byrne and smithies are not good enough, I couldn’t care a less if they’ve come through the academy.

Smithies made our only break and, in my view, was our best forward. Singleton needs to try and run through the line rather than stopping at it.

Actually I thought Bateman had a reasonable game (when compared to his recent form). I would also add Smithies and Field to that group too.

There are some players who should be nowhere near a shirt though.

4 scruffy tries last night. Easily sorted that. Fair play we didn't get in the game but at least we know why. Drops balls and pens (every week I know) but if you look at the points we conceded I think Wigan St Pats would have beaten us. Put it down as a bad trip to France and hopefully have a better performance next week!

never said we should praise them but the majority of fans who post on here are just so negative it is untrue and it was no surprise to see the thread title and subsequent postings. You know when we have won, as the threads are quiet, but god help us after a poor performance and / or a loss, the site goes into meltdown

we have just come off a really poor season, where the entertainment value was zero. We have a new coach who is trying to implement new ideas and bring a sense of value and entertainment back to the team / club. That doesnt happen overnight and if we are being realistic, there are going to be results like the one at weekend / last couple of weekends.

Did anyone seriously think we would go to Catalan and come away with a result like Catalan put on us? If you did, then you must be smoking something. At best we may have come away with a narrow victory. Catalan are one of the 2 best teams in the competition at this moment in time, with a big pack and some talented backs to play off that platform. We needed to perform to the best of the teams ability to get a result, we played poorly, and coffed up possession and penalties so got what we deserved.

The ability of Matty Peet and his coaching team is what fans will now be looking at. Can they get the team to bounce back with a result / performance after 2 poor games in France. Can he turn this team into one that performs consistently week in / week out? I would suggest that the last couple of years under Lam have left some bad habits / attitudes etc within the playing squad and changing that wont happen overnight, so he needs to be given time to address it

PIEMAN. ?? I wonder why? In this generation of nothing but misery ( Brexit ,Corvid & now the war) it is in the inspiration of the team these people support to show a fighting and talented spirit. So i think that your attack on these people who can ill-afford the gate money when they criticise the performances of this Wigan team.
Yet another 'over hyped build up to the pre-season expectations. GET A GRIP!

I didnt attack anyone personally and never have done on this forum. Where does people ill-affording going to a game come into it. I have never criticised anyone for not attending a game and never will do, that is a persons individual choice, and yes, you can still be a fan, even if you dont go to a game.

i try to have a reasoned debate and appreciate that people dont have the same views

my post was at the headline and the usual negativity that follows a Wigan loss or poor performance and the constant stream of negativity on this forum on the back of it. Some can be constructive, as you may have read, but at the same time there are also the "its the end of the world" posters, who claim this team isnt good enough, not good enough to play for Wigan etc etc. The problem with this forum is that you have complete opposite ends of the spectrum with alleged "Happy Clappers" and "Doom Merchants", and the inability in some instances to see another point of view

While you do have some points. I don't think many people would have been bothered if we did anything at all in the match.

We scored Zero points. That is unacceptable for me as a Wigan fan in any match regardless of the opposition.

The loss isn't the issue the nilling is.

thats a fair point, and what i was suggesting with my 2 posts this morning. I respect peoples views and happy to debate with people if they have them, but some are just posting its rubbish for the sake of it (constantly). I probably think i was a bit p***** off when i came on here and 1st thing i saw was disgraceful

I try to be reasoned with both positive and negative comments against the team, but also constructive where i think it is negative.
