Now, now, now? How long has it been since we had a decent side? Millward may have said it would take time to build a decent side but the fact is we have a squad of payers that is under performing.

That is what is wrong with the team. People are not expecting it to march to Old Trafford unopposed but they do expect it to beat a team put together on a shoe string budget like Salford.

Is that an unreasonable expectation from this team? I certainly don't think it is.

We've had 4 competitive games this season. Maybe we should be doing better, but Millward is still deciding what's what in a competitive environment. Choosing who he likes where, who doesn't fit in what position (e.g. Brown at 13), etc.

Why on earth would Milward need to experiment with Brown at 13 when before the match we had one win in three games?

You try things like that in friendlies or practice matches not in a league game when you need to pick up points.

There was no justification playing Brown at 13 whatsoever.

What we need to be is patient, it's not going to happen overnight is it. Wait the course of the season and I bet we are doing better come summertime and all this talk of relegation (like Bradford last season) will have been forgotten about.

My patience with Millwards selection and substitute polices is rapidly running out.

Millward coached the latter half of last season and has had the majority of the squad together since October. We should be better than this by now, not by summer.

i think Millward will turn it around but people calling for his head, lets be honest who would be availible that would be better.

I'm sure he was forced into playing Brown at stand off.If Lockers had been fit it would have been an unchanged team.

Many people were glad to see Orr back and presumably thought this was improving us at stand off. OK, Brown at loose forward wouldn't have been my choice, but then again I don't know what other options Basil had.

In any event, would us playing Brown at stand off as last week and one of the kids at loose forward have been the winning formula? Was Brown a worse loose forward than his Salford counterpart?

Yes he was but the problem was that with the exception of Ashton and Fecca matched up all of our players were worse than there salford counterparts our forwards played well Salfords played better our backs were inefective and our halfbacks no direction no ideas no point being there.I take your point about the conditions not doing us any favours but this second rate salford side knew what to do with the ball in hand and its still the same field.

Dave O has hit it on the head.Salford team is put together on a drasically reduced salary to ours.Yet Salford out played us and more importantly looked commited to the cause unlike our feeble attempts.The supporters are turning out in large numbers but the teams efforts do not match this.I left the willows on Friday more dissolussioned than ever before not by the loss but just how little it meant to the players
