Totally agree. Along with Thompson, Kaide has been the stand-out forward for consistency and effort in both attack and defence.

what i liked most on Saturday was he was 1st one in when Dufty hit marshall. No messing about, straight into his face and letting him know he was there, whereas there were 12 wire players with their arms in the air when Cooper caught their player. it was almost like they were trying to get a mexican wave going the soft gits

A terrific performance all round, but I think the defence was the decisive quality. Making Williams run across field all the time is the key to making him ineffective - we saw that often enough when he played for us.

Good to see the near 65,000 attendance, which proves the resiliance of the Challenge Cup competition, despite the attempts of the game's rulers to undermine it at the start of the Super League era. Long may it continue!

A couple of things from an all round very impressive performance.

First was Harry Smith's kicking. Goal Kicking was brilliant, going up by six points rather than four was so important in what was always going to be a tight and tense game. His practicing paid off.
His field kicking again was brilliant and so much better than Warrington's. Made a massive difference to where Wire started their sets and put them on the back foot so often.
Well done Harry on both counts.

Second was the year of the win. It is 100 years since we first won the C Cup in 1924 and so poignant to win it in the centenary year. Brilliant, just says so much about the club through its history to the present day.

Yes we did win at Wembley in 1929, our first ever Challenge Cup win was at Rochdale in 1924 when we beat Oldham. Van Heerden made a name for himself by scoring running around a police horse to score. Listened to my father talking about some of those players, Van Heerden, VanRooyen, Sullivan and Johnny Ring. My dad reckoned Johnny Ring was the best wingman he ever saw until Billy arrived.

That's why I mentioned the centenary of our first Challenge Cup win.
