That's how the disciplinary saw it too by the look of it. Of the two, smith would have been the worse to be banned. So small mercies I suppose.EagleEyePie wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 4:22 pmIn fairness to Smith, he wasn't responsible for the tip tackle on the Saints fullback, it was Keighran. Smith grabbed the right leg but the lift was minimal. It's the lift of the left leg from Keighran that led to the dangerous tackle.Shaun1967 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 14, 2024 9:16 amI’m getting concerned at the number of times he’s trying this. Watching the game back it’s becoming a regular thing and I think the coaching staff need to address his technique or he will pick up ban somewhere along the line.
He was lucky to have been playing v Penrith.

Matty Peet needs to start hammering home the need to be squeeky clean, especially with the injuries mounting up, to avoid bans.

Any lift carries risk as quite often it’s the momentum of other players in the tackle that causes the loss of control. It may well not have been Smith in this instance but he’ll get caught out eventually. He was very lucky after the Cas game (first of the season), the week before we played Penrith.EagleEyePie wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 4:22 pmIn fairness to Smith, he wasn't responsible for the tip tackle on the Saints fullback, it was Keighran. Its possibly the tackle on Sironen that he was banned for, it was just after the tip on the fullback and where Nsemba pushed Sironen back about 5 yards then Keighran joins in and lifts Sironen whose head contacts the floor? It is mentioned in the Disciplinary thread by WAS.Shaun1967 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 15, 2024 9:34 pmAny lift carries risk as quite often it’s the momentum of other players in the tackle that causes the loss of control.
