Re: Drink Culture
This week Milly took a training session and his pre amble started, "Right lads, take up your usual positions."
And they all went and stood behind the sticks!

A Wiganer went to an away match and his car broke down. He managed to get it to a garage and asked the mechanic, "Can you change my spark plugs?"
The mechanic replied, "Are they Champion?"
Wiganer said, "No they're knackered!"

Re: Drink Culture
Kev Tamati had a no drinking policy at Lancashire Lynx during their playing season. From a sports nutrition point of view makes all the sense in the world. Each SL player is on a monitored diet routine throughout the season (even Scott Logan) so boozing makes a mockery of this! Sad but true...they want to be athletes they should behave like athletes or play NL2.
The only way is up....!

Are we going into something stronger here?

I think this topic should end here, unless you are prepared to name names and provide some facts.WiganWarrior posted:

It's a good opportunity, perhaps, to draw people's attentions to this story http://www.manchesteronline.co.uk/men/n ... rials.html from the Manchester Evening News about people posting things on the internet being sued for libel... Please be careful what you post on here, you don't know who might be reading.

Re: Drink Culture
I dont know how much of this is true and you may have to indulge me on this one but as i posted elsewhere i was sat with a couple if rugby fans during a conference yesterday. The stains fan stated that it was well known for "bulking supplements" to be taken 24hrs before a game then certain players to be seen covered in plaster in the local pubs with a rye smile later on.All this was under the Millward reign and up to current day. This personally didnt make much sense to me in the hotel bar in the early hours of this morning but after reading a few threads watching some of there youngsters and healing rates i am starting to buy into this and find it a bit of a joke surely Drugs testing can still be carried out on injured players it doesnt make any difference if they are hurt in the game does it.
I hate these little conspiracys but i am repeating the conversation from last night and some things unfortunatly seem to make a bit of sense.
1. Sts recovery rates.
2. Complete change in backroom staff at Wigan.
3. Player manager dispute.
4. The body mass of the Sts youngsters on debut.
I seriously hope that this a bitter stains fan on a wind up because although i have vented at Millys results i back him to get it right and i would hope that this isnt how we would end up.
If this is or could be considered libelous please delete as i am no expert on these laws and as i said this honestly the conversation that was had last night and not me trying to stir up trouble

A couple of crucial points in that article:Fraggle posted:I think this topic should end here, unless you are prepared to name names and provide some facts.WiganWarrior posted:

"Libel occurs when when a false and defamatory statement about an individual is published in a form which allows it to be read by a third party."
would seem to imply that a generalised statement about a group would be OK...as in, for example, "all Saints fans are [insert derogatory plural noun of your choice]"
And also:
"Those who host chatrooms and weblogs - including Yahoo - are not liable for libellous remarks if they accept certain responsibilities."
Seems to imply that whoever posts the alleged libel is responsible, but not Mike or his ISP.
but:
"So long as they didn't know the information to be libellous, didn't select the recipient of the information and they remove defamatory information as soon as they have been made aware of it, then they are not liable."
(which, apparently, includes moderators!)
"People who do edit and monitor posts on their sites would not have this defence but would be more likely to spot libellous statements themselves."
