Farrimond isn’t a bad back up kicker, assuming he can get in the team that is

After watching him for Cats I was excited about him. He did alright in the opening weeks but then I thought he was a bit ordinary at times. Gave away silly penalties and struggled on occasion. Towards the back end of the season he had bedded in really nicely. Not a flashy player but can do all the basics very very well and is a top class kicker.josie andrews wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 8:17 amTotally agree, he has really settled in pretty quickly![]()
Did he not say at some point that he wanted to go back to the NRL or is my mind making that up?

I thought Keighran really improved his attacking play towards the end of last season. It got lost somewhat among the brilliance elsewhere. He also went well at 6 when we needed him. And kicks superbly. I would re sign him is an instant.

I think he said he would be open to offers.
That obviously depending on what if any offers and their value to him. He's now got the 3 shirt at Wigan and last season speaks for itself.
I'd much prefer to keep him as his goal kicking could be vital next season. He took the pressure off Harry with a better percentage success and H's overall game improved considerably after Keighran was goal kicking. Next season could be difficult. After "All four in '24" Wigan will have a target on their backs with everyone wanting to beat us more than ever. A top class goal kicker could make the difference in many games.
Adam to stay for me!

Biggest danger is not us not offering him but NRL sides come in for him. If he is going to stay new contract for him needs done quickly.Beryl O'Neill wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2025 4:08 am Would be mad to get rid of Adam excellent player and a decent goal kicker![]()

The podcast with AK was a good listen came across like a real decent lad. Being away from family with young kids was the main reason for him mentioning the NRL. I'm not sure but he said it would be four years next season away.
The plus side of that he said is that he had lived in NZ, France and now England. He's pretty settled here and if the right opportunity didn't come along he would be happy to stay. He praised the club both on and off the field. Seems like he's good mates with Harry Smith.
I felt he started OK and carried that through, the main bonus was his goal kicking . Obviously it gives cover and seems to have lifted weight from Harry Smith's game. His end to the season was really good, his D improved and in the GF he pulled off great last ditch efforts.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
