Looking at where we are now, I would say that being human is no good. We need a super human effort to get us out of the mire we are now in.

This match was a nothin match. The players wont b up for it knowing its Saints next week and they are fighting relegation. Be honest, whats more important, stayin up or gettin thru to the next round of somethin we just wont win!.
What do you mean, so what? A lot of people have worked damned hard to earn the money to watch this game. Our players should give their all in every match, irrespective of what competition it is.
Maybe, if we had won tonight, we could have got into a winning habit. Maybe not, It's Saints next week.
Dont think it was a lack of effort that lost us this one - inability to line-break and vary our attack in the last 1/4 spring to my mind.

A lack of effort on the training ground would explain that.

Money has everything to do with it. If I put in as little effort at my job as some of our team are, my boss would stop paying me, and rightly so. As for St Helens losing to Huddersfield. Not our problem! Oh And don't shout, it's getting late.

Think people are livin in dream land if they think the players were up for this match. what do you think is at the back of a players mind in a situation like this. RELAGATION. Thats what!!!! and not the Challenge Cup!!!!!!
I dont think half of them give two hoots about relegation. Dont forget when they take OUR club down they will be off to another club on another big fat pay packet. Their pain will last a season.

The fans will not.

I agree and this is another problem with the system as it stands at the moment where all SL contracts become null and void when a side is relegated. The good players can give up and say "Oh sod it!" bank their wages and move elsewhere next season.

There needs to be an insentive to not finish bottom and pride in the shirt clearly is no such thing as this has long gone for some players. It's a job and a money issue.

We can't do anything about it this season but in future the club should make sure contracts are part fixed income, part win bonus. They would soon buck up their ideas if they were only going to earn £25K instead of £60K for the season (for example).

I'd also like to see a rule where instead of the players contracts being ripped up for relegated sides they were automatically extended for the first year in NL1 (if the club wanted to keep them) but based on the NL1 salary cap.

So if a player is on 10% of the SL cap as wages he is forced to play for the club in NL1 for 10% of the NL1 cap subject to a minimum wage.

With that threat hanging over them I am sure we would see an improvement!

Never happen though as the players union would not allow it.

It is you that is living in dream land Relegation is here it wont turn round. the stains will have a field day against us n then Leeds. So we should not have bothered turning up at Salford. If relegation is on the players minds they have a funny way of showing it over the last 13 matches. Welcome to the real world. Hope to see you at Batley next season
